are British people boring?

i've just read a news article that stated that in a recent international survey, britain was voted the best country in the world, but the british people the most boring.. i do wonder what people think of us brits, they seem to have some wild idea that we all drink tea and play cricket, they seem quite unaware of the loutish behaviour that many of us are embaressed about.. what do you think?

My husband is English, and he is far from boring. His entire family is still in England and they are NOT boring. I love their sense of humour and think it is better than ours. He enjoys Eastern Canadian humor because he says it is close to the English sense of 'what is funny'. I also enjoy how they play with the English language more than we do.

Fluff - How old do you feel??

digitalfokus has a thread going for how old you actually are, but my question is, how old do you feel??.

you don't have to say how old you are, just how old you feel (and maybe whether that's younger or older than you are), and i'd like to know why you feel that age.

i'm just curious because personally, i don't feel my age and i was wondering how many of my fellow jwders don't feel their age.. i'll start:.

you don't have to say how old you are, just how old you feel (and maybe whether that's younger or older than you are), and i'd like to know why you feel that age.

i'm just curious because personally, i don't feel my age and i was wondering how many of my fellow jwders don't feel their age.. i'll start:.

How can you know what it would feel like to be older when you have never been older?

How can you 'experience' an age that you have yet to experience?

How do you know that your definition of age "20" or "30" or "90" is the same as the next persons?

Memory is selective therefore how can you trust your memory of what it was like to be "20"?

Every person's life is unique, therefore so is age. My age "20" could have been alot worse than my age "30".

How can you sweep and generalize any age without pause and reflection on what 'age' actually means?

How do you know that your perceptions of one age being somehow better is true for everyone?

How can I 'feel' an age when I am what I am right now?

What is my age 'suppose' to feel like? What do I use to gauge whether or not I am 'feeling' my age?

Living in the moment is the only way to go.

one of the topics that i rarely see disscussed is how many of you parents beat their kids because the religion told them to?

if so did you really beat your kids (after reading from the bible) or did you ignore the rule?

Lookin for a JW boy?

hiya im natasha, ive had a study b4 with the jws but im not a baptized jw!

i would like 2 start back up with a study and im lookin for a friendship/relationship with a jw boy to help me through it!

but i have 2 say that the reasent signs in the world like the consistant earthquakes ect have really opened my eyes as 2 whether or not jw teachings may be true!

You would base a life altering decision on the fact that there are 'consistant earthquakes'!?!?!?!

Who told you that there were consistant earthquakes?

What evidence do you have to support such a claim?

What is the earthquake trend in the last 100 years?

Who told you that earthquakes=end of the world?

The bible states that you would know a religion was true by its' works. What are the JW's "works"? (protecting pedophiles within the organization, joining the UN as an organization but not allowing members to vote, carry political cards that could save their lives, etc, prophesying falsely and then blaming members for being too 'eager', changing blood transfusion laws about what WAS allowed, but what now is allowed, people have DIED because they refused ANY part of blood, but now they are allowed 'certain' parts of blood, disfellowshipping people (total shunning by friends and family that are JW, it is as if you are dead) for homosexuality, sex before marriage, adultry, smoking, drinking too much, disagreeing or questioning Watchtower teachings too much, and more.)

Have you researched JWs from a JW perspective, an ex-JW perspective, a JW in but wants out perspective etc? One sided information is just that, one sided.

Gain all the facts, get educated, then make an INFORMED decision.

When you hear something, always always ask, "WHY am I being told this? What year is that quote from? Is it the whole quote or only part? What article is this from? Who said that? (nothing is ever referenced), How do they know that interpretation is the correct one? Could it mean _________? What if you looked at it from this angle, what does it then mean? Is this meant to scare me, encourage me, motivate me, brainwash me, love me, encourage me to shun others, act inhumane?"

I could go on and on, but I will stop. Just ask questions and don't be so gullible as to believe things just because you were told them. Become educated.
