By keeping their members as separate from the world as possible, not being allowed to discuss any problems, fears, inconsistencies etc for fear of being labelled an 'apostate', they are cocooned from realizing that:

They NEED their members to believe that they are being persecuted, that they are a threat to the world because it perpetuates this 'unique' 'chosen' 'special' 'exclusive information belongs only to us' kind of thinking...which eventually leads to the ability to control people due to their fears.

Is it not painfully obvious that they are NOT worshipping God out of love rather they are encouraging fear and a militant attitude amongst their ppl, because this quote is just not true, so why would they use it?

i have a very close friend, who has been a mentor to me for years, who has never judged me in spite of things i've been through.

she is nearly 35 years older than me but we have a kindred spirit.

she is a very devout jw and i believe she always will be.

I use to live my life by gauging my decisions, actions, words, spirituality by others response to them.

Not anymore. It is none of their business.

"If you are not one of us, you are one of them" is their motto. So what is true friendship if you can't be authentic? Who wants to be in a relationship where YOU are bridled about what you can say, but she can say whatever she wants. That is not a friendship, that is an imposed mentorship.

i'm 16 years old and have been raised as a jehovahs witness.

i'm currently considered a very spiritual brother, and have an assignment comming up for the memorial.

but i realized it was all a bunch of crap last year at some time.

It is very sobering to see a 16 year old not only understand, but accept some basic fallacies within the teachings of the bible and the organization that took many of us well into our 30s and beyond to grasp. Congratulations and welcome.

she told me that she was with a man that was close to death, because he caught hiv and he didn't tell her.

anyways, i'm about to get tested tomorrow, april 1. pray that i test negative.

Ridiculous New System Ideas

... that i've noticed, generated by wbts, include that:.

- everybody's living room has a view to the distant snow-capped mountains, uninhibited by the neighbour's ugly tudor that he knocked together at least forty five millennia ago and wouldn't you think he'd have painted the gables by now?.

- they all visit their friends walking over the unfenced meadows carrying baskets of fruit.

Elders have no manners

there i am, saturday morning, 9am, having a coffee with my kids, hair very messy, no make up, pj's on still, and they show up!

why do they never phone first and make an appointment?

i have asked them to do this but they won't comply.

I have nothing to hide..........except my ENTIRE LIFE. NOT one part of my life is any of their business...and that is why it pisses me off so much that they assume that if they just show up, when it is convenient for them, that is is convenient for me too!!

If I need them, I know how to contact them.

If they want me, they can phone first and ASK permission to visit me.

Do you realize that elders have their own families to care for and the majority have full time jobs to tend to? Do you realize the pressure of caring for 80 to 100 publishers? Do you realize that they also get tired and fatigued? Do you realize that they are humans? Do you realize what it takes to prepare the different assignments for the meetings? All this without adding judicial committees, shepearding calls or service.

Right, so why waste their precious time on 'taking chances' that ppl will be home or answer? The logical thing would be that they would make definite appointments in in advance and in doing so, best utilize their time. But, they don't, therefore, there must be another reason why they pounce. One elder even had the audacity to walk around the entire exterior of my house! I didn't want to answer the door, and felt like I had to hide!! GIVE ME A CHANCE TO BE PRESENTABLE and PREPARED. So incredibly inconsiderate. Jez

WHY do they NEVER phone first and make an appointment? I have asked them to do this but they won't comply. So I won't answer the door. Only my good friends would dare to stop by uninvited or unannounced.

Where do they get off thinking that they can just show up like that, get invited in for coffee and 'talk'??? Who do they think they are? My husband and I find it very arrogant, disrespectful and bully-like to continually do this.

PHONE FIRST AND ASK PERMISSION! IT IS CALLED MANNERS. SOCIAL EDIQUETTE!

jwfacts: Yup, I know.

Ballistic: Good points. Also, if you pose this dilemma to a JW, they will no doubt say, "Leave it in God's hands, he created the earth, he could expand it if he wanted to." (That is what I use to say) BUT this is an extremely presumptuous thought. God has left things in mankinds hands right from the beginning. It seems like he has a definite line where he intervenes to 'help' and where he doesn't. He has NEVER swoooped in and solved all of our problems.

If someone rebels in the new system jeehoogie would destroy them immediately (in thine mercy) because once his universal sloberenty has been established there is no reason for it to ever need to be questioned again!

What scripture do they base that teaching on? I don't recall ever reading anything that stated that God would destroy ppl that utilized their free-will.

Eliminating Satan eternally just gets rid of one deviant, more will pop up.
