Thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement. It helps so much. onlycurious. I too am hoping for a boy. We are going to find out at the beginning of March. If it IS a girl, I need time to adjust and get use to that idea.

Keep me young, or make me older. My 16 year old has already given me so many lessons in parenthood. I laugh to myself when ppl say that ‘this stage or that stage’ is so much easier than another. Every single stage has its positive and negative aspects. I don’t believe one stage is harder than another, just different.

thanks, you are wonderful and I hope someday we meet. You have been a great support to me in the past and those socks sound great! Lol. Honestly, he is in love with baby feet and baby clothes. Goes shopping all by himself for stuff.

Thanks Dawn. The most negative person was my brother. He thinks I am crazy. Everyone else has been great.

I am feeling pretty good, the odd day I am sick. I have had some rough things, like spotting early on but the problem is healing, just can’t have any sex right now :( or strenuous activity. But the next ultrasound should be perfect.

I don’t like being pregnant or giving birth at all. I hate maternity clothes etc. I am trying to wear my normal clothes for as long as possible. Only good thing is: BIGGER BOOBS. Lol.

i have a question to the parents on the board:.

how did you know your last child was your last?

did your family feel complete?.

You prompted me to start my own thread announcing my pregnancy. I thought I was done, but wasn't, so never say never until you do something permanant about not having anymore.

I am going to make sure that this is my last baby. I know without a doubt now, that this is it for me.

Give yourself time and set yourself an age if you want. You are 11 years younger than me!!! Plenty of time!!

Did You Overly Discipline Your Kids Because Of Being A Witness?

i knew a lot of jws that "beat" their child with the "rod" as a preferred "scriptural" form of punishment.

corporal punishment was the norm while growing up......were you given the "rod" often?

did you overly discipline your children??

My poor oldest got spanked in the 'mothers room' for making noise during the meetings....I HATE myself for that and HATE thinking about it. I was wrong wrong wrong to ever touch her like that for such stupid reasons.

By the time I had my second, maturity and a separation from what others "thought" I should do kicked in, so I stopped.

A tap on the bottom, as in 'YO, pay attention!', yes, spanking, never ever again.

Thanks for your supportive words. My husband is soooo wonderfully amazed about everything to do with this pregnancy. He has a little baby foot fedish and keeps buying socks. He is amazed that babies have such tiny feet and cant wait to kiss them up. lol Things like that tell me that everything will be ok.

Just thought I would pop in here to tell you all that I am 3 months pregnant! It was quite a shock.

My husband and I have been married for 5 years. He has no children of his own. I have 2. (16 and 12). He has wanted one for 5 years, I just kept saying NO! But somehow after one night of drunken lust...surprise, surprise. I am 37 years old, you think I would know better.

I have moments of absolute joy and moments of total dread. I am afraid, excited and shy about being pregnant at this age. I worry that ppl will think I am crazy to do this again.

BUT, when I saw it waving and kicking in the ultrasound, I was overwhelmed by the whole miracle of it all. I will be ok. My career will be put on hold for a year, my family is extremely supportive, his family is as well and my kids are excited.

What a crazy ride life has been for me! Jez

i would feel really feel bad if my person didin't receive their gift or card.

Having a hard time with this, what to do, what to do

for those who don't know my story (look up past posts, i posted it) here's the cliff's notes.. i was df'd about 10 weeks ago for things other than apostacy.

i plan in being reinstated to keep communication with my family (wife and i were raised in the........tr......tru.........truth) so i am still going to the meetings.. well, for any that don't know my wife had a baby thursday woo-hoo!

anyway, the cong we are in is actually fairly loving and it's quite a shock to me since it's very different from what i have experienced for the last 30+ years.

Just think, everything you do will be watched over by the elders.

This was not my experience. The elders are too few and too busy to watch over you. I was reinstated after attending meetings for 3 months. I started writing letters to them within a month of attending meetings. One day, the elders contacted ME about reinstatement. After that, we talked and still do sometimes, but when I decide to invite them into my personal life and world, not them forcing their way into my life. I told them that my relationship with God was personal, and thanked them for doing their part in opening doors for me.

They have left me alone, because I made it clear that I wanted to be left alone. "Don't call me, I'll call you", kind of conversation.

Shunning you in your own home, that would make me nervous for my children to see the lack of respect that others show me and I would not want them to subtly get the message that I am have done something 'bad', or am a 'bad' person, or not deserving of respect. ESPECIALLY if Mom goes along with it. Not long before they learn the lesson that others dictate how you should be treated, that you have no say in it yourself.

i just emailed the dr. phil show with significant aspects of my story--not just the jw stuff but with being a large part of the complicated picture and said i would be willing to air my issues on their show.

the hidden horrors of marital sex abuse and of sleep-rape, specifically, must be exposed to the general public.

too many believe that it's not even possible to rape a sleeping woman...and they are soooo wrong, as my firsthand experience attests!!!

I'll be very surprised if Dr. Phil Show calls though. He has ignored all emails and phone calls when it comes to THIS cult.

I agree. I wrote to him about 3 or 4 years ago. My story was about hidden abuse of wives within the organization. No reply at all.

"Family day" Is this a new jdub thing?

i know of jws that celebrate "family day" at this time of year.

i have asked these jw about where they got the term "family day" was it from the watchtower?

they seem to deny the watchtower had ever mentioned "family day", but i can sense they are trying to hide something here.

My first marriage's anniversary was in December, so we use to really exaggerate it with presents for the kids etc. Looking back, it WAS a mini "Christmas replacement program", but I didn't think of it like that at the time. Just felt sorry for my kids that they didn't get to unwrap any presents.
