I dont get why this is even worthy of a discussion. People do offensive things in public all the time and yet for some strange reason, breastfeeding is included in inappropriate social behaviour??
Give me a break and get over it already.

last night on the news a woman was told by a store manager that she could not in public breastfeed her child.
she and her husband were quite offended and complained to the company's main offices.
they are now looking into this situation.. what's your opinion?

hello, how long do judicial committees for possible disfellowship typically last?
A rule for all beginning relationships: The questions that you hold back asking now, will eventually be asked.
Would you rather ask now, "Is this relationship worth it to you?" or later?
There was not a doubt in my mind with my husband when we were dating that I felt like the following: (the Googoo dolls' song, "Iris")
"And I'd give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest thing to heaven that I'll ever be"

well we now have a wonderful happy healthy baby boy ,as of march 30th.
not getting much sleep ,but oh well , he is a joy to have.so wish us luck, we have a 18 month old also, so this should be interesting.
so far my in-laws have not even come to visit or see him at the hospital or to our home , even though they have been told they are always welcome.
Congratulations!!!!
I am very happy for you!
About the JW in-laws....my mother was involved with my children until I left. She not only cut me off cold turkey, but her granddaughters as well. They were only 6 and 10 when they lost her as a grandmother. SO, better that your son never knows his grandmother, than to know her and then lose her. "Mom, why doesn't grandma come visit anymore?" I will tell my new son (coming in 3 months) that he doesn't a grandmother on my side. MUCH easier, especially since I have inherited amazing grandparents on my husbands side, have a wonderful father, and a step-mom.
Look at what you HAVE, not what you don't have.

we are having a boy and can't decide on names.
we want something a little different, not in 'the top 10'.
it also has to be english or german orgin.
Update: This name game is driving me crazy. I still dont have anything concrete. "Harlan" is one name that we like. I just am not sure. I might narrow it down to 5 and then when I see him, see if one name suits him over another.
AHHHHHH

Whew! Just got through reading all of those names. Last night I told him about the ones I liked. The only one is is mulling over is (drum roll please) Harlan. I will take home tonight 14 more names that I like and see if he agrees. Will keep you posted.
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions!

i jumped on my pc at work for a few mins today to read the latest.
as i read, i noticed, i am forgetting what it was like to be a jw.. everything i read is taking on such a foreign air about it, that is no longer talking about me, but someone else, something i vaguely remember being.. i am so peaceful to realize that i have finally forged my own way in life, seen things for what they really are, not having a massive multimillion dollar organization breathing down my neck and trying to dictate my thoughts and actions, being truly happy and excited about the future, not sick with fear.. i love this place i am at.
through time and education, i finally feel so "worldly".

I love this place I am at. Through time and education, I finally feel so "worldly". In the "world", the term worldly means well travelled, well educated, knowledgeable about many things, etc...it is a POSTIVE thing. JW, as usual, coin this term as their own and transform it into something negative. It could not be more positive for me.
Jez (5 months prego with a boy!)
hello all...i've been searching for some sort of comfort in my situation.
i found a story written by "iamfreenow" aka marion.
i found some comfort to know that i am not alone in my challenging of my faith.
Oh wow. I am sooo sorry for you. I can't believe that you went and confessed, only to be df'ed. How unloving. Too bad you fell for that ol "they have a right to know everything about your life." It was none of their business what happened in your personal life. Sadly, the boundaries between privacy are very blurred when you are in.
Going to meetings for one year and still not reinstated!! And df'ed only for drinking!! Crazy! I was df'ed for adultry and reinstated within 3 months. No consistency. It is about who you know and whether or not they like you.
My heart really goes out to you. I hope you find peace and fill your life with positive ppl. The sad thing is, once you are shunned by your family, it is never right again because you see a part of them that should never be seen. For them to be able to do that, hurts much deeper than anything. Conditional love is not love. Five for fighting's song "The Reason". He says one line that always sums up for me now what is so lacking with most JW's. "I love you free". I won't accept anything less now. At one time, I was desperate for acceptance, even on their terms. Now, I want to be loved, free.
You are in my thoughts and hopes. Jez
in short, my mom's a die hard jw.
my brother was never baptised and, although he doesn't believe or go to the kh anymore, my mom still has a relationship with him.
thus he decided to email the following to our mom and her reply is below.. what i want to know is,...what would be an excellent reply for my brother to use in response to her comment?
Acadian has shown you a powerful article from the 1979 WT 1/1 30-3.
To me, that is all that would be necessary. It is from a WT, so your Mom will read it. To me, that speaks volumes of the hypocrisy.
