wow...this was really cool. You out did yourself covin, and you should be proud. It was so morose, but how many times have we seen those pictures over and over in our heads? Mind boggling.

Are there "Rules" to Dating a JW? Why?
by MelbaToast ini know growing up there were certain unsaid rules about dating....i always had to have a chaperone or go in a group....can anyone think of all the obligatory rules that you had to follow....and did you follow them "word for word"?
-

rules as I had em:
1. No dating until proper marrying age (18 by my parents book)
2. No dates without a chaperone all the time. (Course, it helped if you were chaperoned by another couple ;-))
3. My parents would not let me call boys, they had to call me (which of course, they did)
4. No talking on the internet
5. Date had to bring me home before chaperone left.
6. No traveling to other halls for friends (boy or girl) (this was a nazi rule if I ever had one)
7. Hand holding in public was a no-no
8. my mothers own rule: no skirts on dates, I could only wear pants (I guess this was to ensure that there was no "easy" access)hmmm...never worked
Anyothers have any dumbass rules?

Corvin,
I don't even know that well, but my heart bleeds for both you Nancy and the other kids. She is a wicked person...and in the long run, she is only hurting herself and her children. It is so sad how she treats both your kids and you! The stepprick doesn't help any either!!
Poor Nancy, I wish I could see her just to hug her and tell her its going to be ok. Like Blondie said, keep your wits about you. This will show EVERYONE (Judges, police, general public) how the organization has twisted the mind (but did she have some help, like a mental illness?) Im with the others, Id print logs out of this message board regarding all the mind melding shes done to your kids.....Oh and please please get a lawyer. She is out for blood........I thought she abstained......
((((((((((BIG HUGS to all fam)))))))

Does anyone else take Atenolol or Nitro-Glycerine?
by ohiocowboy ini just got back from the doctor yesterday after discovering that my angina and valvular regurgitation from mitral valve prolapse are getting worse, and the angina lasting longer, and getting more intense.
i was on calan-(verapamil), but have now been switched to atenolol and nitro.
i was prescribed the nitro before, but never used it, as i was afraid to take it.

My hubby takes nitro for chest pains. Its really nothing to be worried about. The side effects from Nitroglycerine are usually just headaches. (because of the effect of the drug on your veins and arteries. I really don't know a whole lot about the drug, but are you taking it everyday, like in a patch form, or are you just prescribed nitro for attacks?

nate:
glad you came back. I am also glad you made the decision not to attend sunday...but that is your choice.
Do you think that Kerry has showed you unselfish love by her actions? Remember: Love believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (including being kicked out of a congregation because of some stupid rule) Love never fails.
If she really loves you, she will not make you attend meetings or become reinstated.
Sorry, thats all my mind can think of at the moment.

Anyone remember "The Tragic Saturday"...old morbid story in Awake?
by MelbaToast ini remember for a while, my mother would have "personal" study with me out of the old bon volumes.
she would make me go through a year and find a story that "interested" me.
looking back, i vaguely remember (i think it was in the 70's) a story about this man that had his whole family slaughtered by his son?

Blondie, youre a life saver. My reaction goes as follows.......Wow...This story still sends shivers up my spine. I think it has to do with the fact that the poor man had seen all this bloodshed, and was so thrilled to hear something else than " youll get to see all your kids in heaven" that he just was sucked in, helpless emotionally, and the borg sunk their teeth in....

I am not sure of all the details, it was a long time ago, and I wonder if it had any ill effects on other children as well.
Any help would be appreciated...I would actually like to follow up on these people that went through" so many trials and tribulations" because of being a JW...Didn't it seem that experiences are no longer in the Awake, maybe that was another format change.
Any Ideas?
