I realize that yes I was partially at fault ( I realized that the minute I found him dead by the way) and didn't need a chastizing on the caretaking of animals from someone that doesnt know my home or my family well enough to make a judgement on what happened. Like I said, I was projecting my anger and grief into an unknown entity. Much like when people ask god why they allowed someone to die. Its a part of grieving. Leave me be. Im done with this thread. and I hope you let it die to John Doe. You have accomplished your goal, now dont you feel better? I hope so. And I hope, behind all that condemnation and bitterness, you find your way and learn to deal with the hatred and cynicism in your heart.

just came home from grandmas house and found him next to the road.

i guess he had made a jail break (he jumped my fence everyday) and got hit.

of course, noone left even a note, what do they care, its only someones dog.

Ok.. Im going to deal with this is the most civil way possible. My dog took off this morning, after I let him out to use the bathroom. I had to leave to go to my mother in laws, and called for him. He saw me, and took off the other way. toward a field.

Of course I would be upset if a wreck was caused by me letting my dog out to go to the bathroom, but that is not what is at stake here. Throwing out hypothetical situations wont bring my dog back. However, if a wreck had happened, most likely case scenario I would know who hit my dog, because they would have looked at my dying dogs tags.

He stays INSIDE all the time, my other dog stays out. I take responsibities for my actions, and yes I am upset that I let him out, but yeah, a dogs gotta piss. Or if you had it your way, I would have him contained in a pen, walking in his own feces and urine.

just because I project my anger onto an unknown assailant that killed my dog, I have no personal responsibility????!!!??

Your irritation about me thwocking your head is becuase of YOUR callousness toward my situation, not towards anyone that hit my dog.

Do me a favor will ya, I dont want any of YOUR sympathy. Take it somewhere else.

Oh yeah, the innocent motorist is not kind enough to leave a name, a number ANYTHING that might say how sorry he is or anything. I have neighbors, and a chruch next to me. If the person was concerned at all he (or she) would at least tried to contact someone regarding the dog. I know I hit a dog once in a rural area, a bull dog, and he rolled, but you know what? He got up and walked away.

Did that matter to me? NO! I still went to all the houses around to find the owner and apologize, and guess what? after the first house, the neighbor told me that it was the next doors dog. So I went and apologized, which they thought was admirable and appreciated the guesture.

If you were in the presence of me or my other dog right now, I'd thwock ya on the back of your head with my hand.

you insult me like I dont have adequate fencing or can contain my dogs... I have 5 acres of land....all chain-linked fencing, and I take extreme measures to keep my dogs safe. Sampson got out every day because he climbed fences. I swear. There were no holes underneath to dig under. He was very agile, and just put two paws in the fence and jumps. once he gets over he takes off. We have a chain for him, but it was not very long, only about 20 feet, and guess what? He would hang himself OVER the fence with the chain on. Really safe, too

So dont throw your little mighty might around me like Im a neglectful owner. Didn't your mom tell you, "If you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all?"

People just kill me...I run over a turtle in the road and Im crying!! I couldnt live with myself if I had hit someones puppy.

I tried to cover him up and hes too close to the road, I might end up the same way. I could pick him up when he was alive, but I always had his help, coz he loved getting on his mommies lap. Hes about 75-80 lbs and I just cant lift all that dead weight by myself.

What a great way for my hubby to come home on his birthday, to help me bury our Sampson. Am I a poor sight right now! Crying my eyes out. My other dog has sat by the fence everytime I look out at him, he's laying by his buddy

i'm newish so in the great spirit of getting to know you (sing with me) getting to know all about you......what do you do for a living and do you enjoy it and if you could would you do something different?

Hiya!

I am a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) for my 18 month old. Found my true calling, nursing by taking some assesment tests after losing my stupid service manager job for a monitoring company. I always knew I hated office work and talking on the phone bitching about stupid bills.

So I did a self-exam of my life and found out what was important to me, taking care of people when they need help.

Weird Thing About Me: Im kind of morbid, and since I was a child, everey open casket funeral I go to, I have to touch the person before I leave. Dont ask me why, I dont know. We could go into Freudian diatribe all night long :P

So Im going to school, taking care of a roving toddler, and mostly enjoing my summer off! Id write more, but I cant really think of everything about me.

all the time i've spent on these boards, i've never heard anyone mention it.

just curious.. when an unbaptized publisher was in a situation "warranting" dfing, they would announce from the platform that the person had been dad.

In my hall, they also used this, it was still closer to 1990-91....I thought it was strange, but they wanted to make sure that the hall was aware that he was considered "no longer a member of the congregation". It was weird because I knew they couldn't disfellowship him, but had previously been really animate about getting baptized and even worked on a couple of quick builds..

Have been keeping track of your story. Glad ya didnt cave in....Let the lawyers deal with em.....and if you have to post a no trespassing sign. I dont know if its the same in Canada, but if a sign like that is posted, in US, you can call the cops on em for trespassing.
