I think that when a guy is with a woman, it's like he has the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. That is, a woman has already screned him and found him to be domesticated (for lack of a better word).

Why do women do this???
by dezpbem inhere's something that happens that i find strange with women, no offence.
i was out with a female friend.
we're just friends and nothing more but to anyone else who saw us we would have looked like a couple.

typically ridiculous.
by RichieRich inlast saturday, me and a friend from the hall decided to go to nc state fair together.
i have been told that the state fair is not a big deal in other areas of the country, but here in these parts, it means alot to us, expecially since we live in/near the capital city.
about the friend: he's a year younger than me, and we go to the same school.

Shunned again, and you won't guess where. EVER.
by kwintestal inwell, we were going about our business today as we usually do on a monday.
mrs kwin went to work, kids went to school, i stayed home and made apple sauce and beer.
2:30 comes along and it's time to pick up everyone and, oh yeah ... we have that appointment today.

I think I would complain to the elders in her hall that she's bringing reproach on Jehovah's name by ignoring you to the point of not carrying out her duties at her job. If she's brainwashed, the only people she'll listen to are other JWs, not her employer.

I enjoy reading lots of posters -- too many to name. Having said that, I have a bit of a cyber-crush on Elsewhere (even though I'm in a happy, committed relationship). He cracks me up.

Then I wished him the best, and told him I'd see him at book study.
I'm laughing my ass off over here! But seriously, his argument that rejecting good association is as bad as engaging in bad association is ridiculous on its face and even more absurd under this set of facts. Presumably he sent his daughters out after you because you're good association, because he wouldn't send them out with someone who was bad association, right? And were you good association the previous week when the daughters ignored you at the Hall or did going to the state fair turn you into good association? Because if attending the fair didn't magically turn you into good association and if he believes that rejecting good association is as bad as engaging in bad association, it sounds like he's better have a sitdown with those two daughers of his. He's a real deep thinker, that Brother Elder Dad.

Renting movies, did you really chose what was OK for Christians to watch?
by JH in.
i remember at the hall, there was a speech where the brother said that 90% of movies weren't for christians.
the way he talked, about 90% of movies had sex in it or violence or anything that christians shouldn't watch.. funny thing is that every time i was invited to watch a movie with the jw's, there was plenty of violence in the movie they chose, and it didn't seem to bother them whatsovever.. gee, i rented lots of movies with sex and violence, and it didn't bother me at all.

Do you JW's believe that during the 1000 yr reign that all the dead will JW
by booker-t ini was wondering especially from some of the old timers out there jw's or ex-jw's that really understand the jw's concept of the reserrected dead during the 1000 reign of jesus christ.
do they believe that the people brought back from the dead will have to convert to jw's in order to live on for eternity?
i know this sounds like a stupid question but i was talking to a jw's elder the other day and he told me that people like my grandmother who was a "devout born-again baptist" would have to study and become a jw's in the 1000 year reign before she could enter into paradise.

My question then is: So if Witnesses and non-Witnesses who die now, both get a resurrection here on earth, why should anyone go to 5 meetings a week, go banging on doors every waking moment and obey all the insane rules and regulations that the WTS puts on their shoulders if you're going to get a resurrection anyway?
Mary, I always thought that was the importance of stressing that the end will be here any second now. You know, like they're using an "Act Now While Offer Lasts! Supplies Are Limited! This Offer Is Not Available In Stores!" approach to peddling eternal life on a paradise earth. If I'm wrong about that, someone please correct me.

You all must remember the famous one with the young pioneer "sister" calling on the door of a serial killer all by herself, and finding out later that the reason she hadnt been attacked was because there were 2 tall, burly men standing behind her, as observed by the potential killer? Two bad-ass angels standing behind her!! yeah !!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I remember that one! Good times (okay, not really).
