a busy schedule that allowed me to miss meetings without them constantly hounding me.
Looking back I know for a fact that my dad was involved in such things... as a kid I just didn't realize it at the time.He was always busy with his "elder business"... endless meetings, phone calls all hours of the day and night all the time... it was not uncommon for him to receive a phone call late at night and then dash out the door saying something about "elder business".
That would be a great cover if he were having an affair.

both my mom, dad and sister have asked me to write them with my reasons and concerns for leaving the wts.
this is what i wrote them.
I know what you mean. I was never baptised, so my parents don't shun me, but their unhappiness caused by their belief that I'm going to be destroyed along with all the other supposedly wicked people really makes me sad and angry. I wish that they could open their minds to the possibility that the organization is wrong. I love my parents and wish to respect their beliefs, but at the same time, I feel like shaking them and screaming, "Don't you see that your unhappiness is caused by this F*#%ED UP organization and not by me?????!!!!!"
Ugh, sorry for venting. I really feel for you, Jared. Good luck with your response.

Those elders sound like they were rabid!
my friend was summoned to a jc.
she did not go and pretty much told the elders to kiss her ass.
she wants to attend the announcement which is tonight.
Like Nos, I've never been in that situation, but if I had been I would not have attended. I can think of few things more mind-numbing than going to the Kingdom Hall; wild horses couldn't drag me back in there.
the publications are filled with stupid comments.
elders and others have made some rather dumb statements too.

I guess *ahem* True Christians shouldn't east pizza for that same reason, then?
