Actually, the best memory of that morbid tripe that they call melodys, is when the crappy tape-recorder-thing broke down and the poor pathetic brother on the platform had to count us in. With a swish of his hand and a hesitant 1 -2 -3 he sang the first note about an octave and a half too high and no-one could reach the notes which in turn forced the more musicaly talented ones of the flock to endevour to rectify the matter by singing more loudly in what they deemed to be the correct key!The resulting sound was utter chaos to ones ear, nontheless an amusing distraction from the usual tedium.........Ahh the memories are all flooding back!

How about this......................I recently bought myself a new mobile phone and my daughter (who has an 'interesting' sense of humour), composed that haunting melody of LAZARUS, 'The Ressurection Joy',and assigned that particular ringtone to my home number. I was slightly embarrased when she called me from home while I was in the supermarket!

How would you LOVE to do it?
by noidea inif one wanted to be creative in disassociating one's-self..just how would you love to do it?
i think it would be a riot to hire a few stripping telegram singers to sing my letter instead of having it read from the platform..
anyone else?

Do Jws help disfellowshipped ones or apostates?
by haujobbz in.
do you think that, if say you fell over and and seriously injured yourself in the street, would a jw you knew passing by help you knowing that you were disfellowshipped or so called apostate.
maybe even come to see you at home if you were unwell or depressed,i mean how many witnesses have assisted or helped you when you needed it mostly, you see i thought they were supposed to encourage you to become so called spiritually stronger.but saying that when you were active as a jw do you think you were helped in times of distress or illness by your fellow jw,for instance i know a woman who's still a witness but hasnt been to meetings for say a year and thats because she has severe athritis and guess what only 1 j-dub has wrote to her so to her it seems like if your not a regular at meeting you may as well be classed as disfellowshipped.

A 'sister' that I used to pioneer with, often spoke about the "internal" ministry, which was something we should never forget. She would say that this was, as, if not, more important than knocking on the doors of empty houses! I must say though, that I never recall her actually engaging in this mysterious "internal" ministry, but then I suppose she wouldn't be able to count her time!

phonecall from mormon re PANORAMA
by bay64me ina call from a mormon friend expressing her disgust at last nights panorama programme.
while i share her disgust at the despicable treatment these abuse victims endured, i also felt a burning rage at her, (my friend) for her apparent smugness in her attitude that such a thing would never happen within the confines of her religion.
.

my rage came as a bit of a surprise to me, as i thought i'd never feel that way about jws exposure.

My rage came as a bit of a surprise to me, as I thought I'd never feel that way about JWs exposure. I must admit that I even felt the old indoctrinated defences rise as I watched and listened to the show. I have never seen nor heard anything as shocking as that before in my life!

Of course the problem of paedophilia needs to be exposed, wherever it takes place, whether it be in the Catholic church, Boy scouts, Kingdom halls or Mormon churches and the 'shock-factor' of such reporting will certainly make people take notice. I only hope now that this one is out of the bag, that something will actually be done about it!

SOMETHING THAT IRRITATES ME
by bay64me inok, so it's maby to be viewed as a minor irritation but annoying all the same.
i can't help getting peed off when i see tv programmes showing music clips and videos that were out when i was in!.
it makes me sad to think that i missed out on so much good stuff, when all the while i thought i was keeping myself "unspotted" by not having any part of the world!.

Lost Diamond
Nothing to do with dwelling on the past.............just a minor irritation.
Just living life now from day to day but I find that just now and again I get reminders of what I missed out on and my lack of knowlege in certain areas. Like I said origionally, a whole chapter of my life seems to have been obliterated.

It really makes me feel that I've lost a whole chapter of my life in more ways than one!
