  need slogan, ideas please!

  i know this is not jw related but can i tap into your wealth of wisdom and talents please!

  i work in a playgroup in a small village and we need to come up with a catchy/ humorous slogan to put on a banner on our float for the village festival parade this weekend.

  the over all theme is medieval, and as a playgroup we are dressed as robin hood and maid marions.

  Does Genesis 1:26 support Devine Trinity???

  i've seen several comments about trinity, so here goes another one: .

  please read again genesis 1:26

  this is very interesting paragraph and many times is being used as a proof of trinity as it says let us create .

  Of course the LDS are mad because we believe that God is married - otherwise Eve was hardly in God's image. Also we're bonkers because we believe God is a title and that there are many gods and that is the ultimate destiny of God's children - to grow up and be like Him (and if we don't want to be like Him we just have to rebel a bit and we won't have to be..)

  A question for the Christians...

  hi guys.

  wondering if you have any input on this one.. now that you are no longer a jw what is your interpratation of the lords prayer where it says 'let your will take place in heaven also upon earth'.. i would love to hear your opinions on this matter.

  as a christian the belief is that you are going to heaven right?

  God will come and rule this earth for a thousand years then it will become an actual glorified heaven for all people who ever lived here after the final armageddon.

  In the meantime we can create a mini version of heaven here on earth by creating places where the commandments are kept and families thrive (ie our homes.)
  Heaven is currently still the place we came from (God's home)

  Why I know Satan doesn't exists

  when i was growing up as a jw i had (as most others) a masturbation 'problem'.. the broblem more was that i felt guilty, and not happy.

  this caused my concience to grow very weak.

  because of this repressed desires etc, i would have done anything for a woman.

  Just that Satan and God are beings with physical limits - they can't be everywhere at the same time and actually would do very little of the work attributed to them - I see them both as 'corporation bosses' - an appeal to either would not generally by handled by them in person but by a rep.

  ..last point I just reread your post EF and I just couldn't help but stop at the point where you said you would do no harm..
  
  would you abort a baby? Many doctors do and that is NOT doing no harm... the medical profession has to make very difficult decisions but its not good enough to claim a mantra. I visit hospitals regularly where people are kept alive by machines well past their natural end - losing all dignity. I don't support euthansia but I do support letting people die as pain free as possible rather than preserving life in this crude fashion.
  
  Th ewhole point about law is that their must be a consequnce - a judgment a price to be paid. Its far too weak an arguement to say that catration is pointless because they'd all go internet shopping. Some mught but even if a % of paedophiles never commit the crime because of the penalty then thats good enough for me. Every saved kid is worth it.

  EF I never said anything about chopping off hands for thieving.
  
  I think that abusing a child is unforgivable by society (for the individuals involved it may be..) Paedophiles are not in the same class as thieves.
  
  If someone abused my kids I'd tear them apart (of course I'd get the bigger sentence but there we go) I'm sure paedophiles are quite happy that we don't chop bits off them and they can happily roam around looking for more lives to destroy. No amount of nice debate will ever change my mind on this one. I don't think jail covers the severity of the crime.
  
  As a side point neutering society rather than the p. criminal seems to be a disaster waiting to happen. While I enjoyed the film 'Demolition Man' I wouldn't like to see a society that is unable to issue harsh penalties for terrible crimes.
  
  I also don't agree with the often repeated condescension about society in the past - 'oh we've moved on since those days' just smacks of lazy pride in our society IMHO - I like some of the things we've achieved but I also think we've lost many things our ancestors got right (no I'm not going to list thigs in some 'we're better than them' discussion.)

  I think Satan exists but not because of bad things in the world. I believe God exists but not because of good things either.
  
  I think we are the same stuff. If I do harm I act like a satan if I do no harm I act like a god but critically I can't be everywhere - I don't think God or Satan can be either - I don't see any scriptural evidence for that. Unfortunately I can't answer till later since I'm off to bed..

  for example: we had a 'faithfull' brother getting older and confused.

  when something did not really went as he liked it (didn't get the answer etc) he shouted very loudly 'god doom me in the hell!

  one time i had to do the closing prayer on the midweek meeting.

  Ahh I can't beat the talking bum but here's my wife's story...
  
  
  She was in a church in the UK , near Sunderland, where a brand new Utah bred missionary was sent. He knew nothing about the world outside of the Rocky Mountains and had a habit of saying that everything was ,'"Awesome!"
  "Bro. Jones your tie is so awesome!"
  "Sis. Brown your lesson today was awesome!" ad nauseaum
  
  Well some (fun)'loving' youth decided to point out, just before he got up to give a public talk, that in the UK we didn't use the word 'awesome' , we use the word 'cr*p' to mean something really good and worthy of recognition. Bizarrely he accepted that without question. The end of his talk went somewhat like this..
  
  "I just have to say this church is just cr*p, you people are cr*p, I love the Gospel, its so cr*p and I know that our prophet is cr*p - I'm so thankful to be in such a cr*p country..'
  
  The back row of church disintegrated while the older front half sat in slack jawed shock. Priceless.
