My 7 yer old is saved!
by DrunkWithLiberty inmy little seven year old went to church with a neighbor kid last wednesday evening.
i thought the class would just be a few bible stories and color something, and since my husband and i want our children to be exposed to all kinds of beliefs and religions, i let her go.

There are churches that teach hell and damnation approach and it leaves an impression that God is walking around with a hammer ready to smash someone -- its the complete opposite, He will not invade us or push us around to make that choice, its our freewill to say yes or no.
Yes but you have to realize that when you say Accept jesus and be saved or die an eternal torterous death, it's hardly a choice. It's like holding a gun to your head. It's no different than the JW doctrine to be a JW and choose to live forever or leave them and choose to get killed at armagedon. This is why I can't beleive in christianity.

and where did god come from?

And where did God come from? He was always there, or has no beginning or end, mystical answers like that. And if you say there is no god because we all arose by chance from a lightning bolt, then how can you say God dosen't exsist if he is also a complicated lifeform. If humans, a sentient self-aware species could arise by chance, why not God?
So we're just chasing ourselves in circles, each side has no right to attack the other. We just need to beleive what we want to as long as it dosent harm others, and cooexsist in peace and boob jokes.
Has anyone read any other theories as to the exsistence of life? I've heard of an odd theory regarding crystals, how they form complicated shapes and patterns (snow flakes for example) from simple mathematics and that life also arose that way.

When I sit back I can not see how the intricate design of all things can possibly come about by chance.
Life couldn't possibly come to be by chance because it is too complicated? What about God, isn't he much more complicated than a mere human? How did he come about? He has always been? No beginning and no end? So if he, a complicated form of life could just 'always be' why can't the same be said of humans?
