  Is it LOVING to try and get JWs out?

  first of all, let me make it clear that i have left the wts, and i don't agree with its teachings (mostly, the organisation presented as "gods prophet").. i have a few family members who are jws.

  does everyone here think it is loving of us to tell them all the things that the wts have done wrong?

  once they realise that the wts is corrupt, they experience.

  Hi Sirona: It all depends. In principle, helping people to get out from under a cult environment is a good thing to do. The JWs are not an extremist cult, so the dangers are not as urgent.

  I beg to differ? Anyone remember this:

  Try telling those kids that died that this is not that dangerous of a cult. PEOPLE DIE. Many people die. It is VERY loving to get them out of the cult. Is it loving to get a someone out of an abusive relationship where they get beaten and mentally abused? Of course! to say that well if they leave then they wont have a nice warm house is ridiculous. Freedom is our most valuable posession as a human being. TO have that taken away dehumanizes us.

  Should I be doing more?

  my story is posted in the "personal experiences" section of this discussion board and someone responded with and interesting observation.

  he said that it's great that i'm now out but that i have 'dues to pay' to those whom i have disfellowshipped and talked out of going to college while serving as an elder.

  while serving as an elder i did share in disfellowshipping several members of the congregation, many of whom are still out there being shunned by family and friends.

  Hey if your version of 'help' is to send the poor ex-jw's into another religion, you are gravely mistaken. Your help should be soley in helping them see the JW's are wrong and to basically teach them how to apply logic to beleif systems and how to use critical thinking, two skills sorely lacking in the cult member. Many of us after applying thse skills on the bible have found it to be completley false, a book filled with the ramblings of old men no different than the governing body.

  So please, don't send them off to another religion.

  Help!! I am extremely confused.

  i'm at a definite crossroad in my life right now and i don't know which direction to turn.. for my entire life i've been taught to believe in one thing but now i'm seeing things that i never knew where there before.

  i find it very disturbing that there has been so many predictions the wts has made in the past that failed to come true.

  also the bouncing back and forth on certain doctrines make me question my beliefs.. but on the other hand i can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline.

  That's not totally true, they did publish a short 'apology' of sorts, but all it does is blame the rank and file for the error and not themselves. I forgot the exact issue date and page

  we've addressed the issues of 'witnesses are the only ones preaching, the only ones growing, the only onea teaching 'the truth'" and you will soon find that these statements are not true. I'll leave it to someone else on this board to go into detail on that. (but basically there are many other religions that do preaching, JW's do not do any charity work even though jesus said 'i was hungry and you fed me, i was naked and you clothed me etc etc' Jw's do not teach the truth, a good example is the blood doctrine, an insane policy that has killed thousands..and don't fprget organ transplants)

  As for Jersusalem being destroyed in 607 bce, you will find NO, absolutley NOTHING that will be able to prove that date outside of watchtower publications. You will find the real date of its destruction was 587 bce or 586 bce.

  the current hoax claims that a firend of a friend of a friend of a friend was supposed to date on of the terorists but before he left he warned her not to fly on the 11th and not to go to any malls on hallowneen.
