I've never gone to a jewish temple or spoken to a rabbi as there aren't any here where I live but if there was one near, you can bet I'd be there in discussion with him constantly...I'd probably become a real pain in the donkey...:)

it seems as though at least one article in every issue of the study watchtower is devoted to reinforcing the governing body's authority.

so if the GB says stop the presses and decide to print something different...it doesn't happen? because if it would happen...every congregation would be sent the new edict would it not?...personal opinions aside, if they were going along to get along then at least for appearance sake they would all be in agreement or on the same page. the changing doctrine and flip flops that people have gone along with for years proves that the majority would "change" their "beliefs" over night if the GB said to...and that kind of sudden "change" could not occur quickly in the protestant churches or the catholic church.

actually if God needed to "cut to the chase" the WTBTS would be the only bible believing group that would ALL be able to be "on the same page" within a week or so world-wide...can't say as much for all the protestant denominations though...or catholics...

this is going to be a short essay on a point i have been thinking about for a while now.. jesus explicitly stated in the gospels not to judge.
i think this a grossly overlooked statement from jesus from the witnesses and a lot of christian denominations.. judging could be defined as figuring out what's right or wrong for another person.
it's a pretty simple concept really, and jesus warned against it.. organized religion by definition creates doctrine and policy, some enforce them more than others (like the witnesses).. to create (or interpret) doctrine and initialize policy is to judge others.

I think that Jesus understands safety in numbers and wants us to gather together to serve, it is easier to minister "outside" when there are many at the task. also with accountability to the group and encourgement in growth the bond of fellowship is increased...sharing each others burdens is important. each finger can work alone but when there are 5 attached to a hand there is strength...

I'm praying for the son that will become the new supreme leader of north korea. I don't know if he can change the regime with his fathers "old guard" still on duty...but if he can without being killed or something I think that perhaps the younger generation might stand behind him if he chooses to bring his nation into the "global family"
...until then the slightest incursion into the nk territory is said to be considered an act of aggression but the use of nuclear weapons as a deterant?... the leader kim jong-il seems to be the type that is appeased when his enemies notice and react favorably to his posturing...the longer he can KEEP his enemies scared by threatening them the more powerful he probably feels...now let's hope that no one does anything to make him start feeling paranoid...
