do you think that the orthodox call for the third temple and resumption of sacrifices is invalid because liberal judaism has philosophized its way around the concrete problem of sin and atonement towards God?
if you have moved so far away from the orthodox why do you feel qualified to expound(?) on the merits of the religion?

dear designs... you suggested: "To understand how in Judaism issues of why the Jews were singled out to have a certain code I would suggest studying what is known as The Two Views."...but understanding that probably wont answer my question... moses posed the question about sin and atonement and the answer was the atonement sacrifice which was performed by priest on behalf of the jewish nation...it was a REQUIREMENT OF THE RELIGION. Now some 2000 years have passed by without this religious requirement being met and it's ok philosophize it away and include gentiles in the reneging of obligations...but ...ta da!... either the sacrifices actually had a reason and they ment something to God and israel or moses instituted an epic chain yanking...do you see a problem in not delivering a religious answer to a religious question? love michelle

I just read that the sadducees were the elite of the temple at the time of Jesus...and I thought that they didn't believe in an afterlife.
do you think that adam was jewish?...how about noah?...the sacrifice of ATONEMENT was divised and carried out by God's chosen people, those special in God's eyes above everyone else...why do you figure that they might have needed an atonement sacrifice specifically for them if it was thought that all adam's children would be taken care of?...were they making atonement for every living human or for the sins of israel?...was the sacrifice made to placate God for the sins of israel in this "dimention" and the sins of gentiles of no consequence "beyond"?

part of this convincing has everything to do with believeing what the bible says...psalm 51:5-6...psalm 51:3-4

imo, liberal theology has taught the succeeding generations to be "good" but not to be "convicted" (hebrews 12:4)...isn't this dangerous when salvation depends on sincere belief? (romans 10:9).

the chapter John 8 has Jesus talking to "the people" in the temple with the scribes and pharisees standing by. I dont doubt that He was correcting their wrong thinking/teaching, even so those who had the "law" were "convicted" by their conscience (john8:9)...not the HS.
do you think that (before "conversion") your conscience is synonymous with the Holy Spirit in some way...and if not then how can you "bypass" knowledge of the holiness and judgement of the Father and go straight to the knowledge of forgiveness in the Son?...you see somehow/somewhere you had to have a "reason" for your faith in Jesus as your saviour...the Holy Spirit comes to those who believe in the Son and He came to those who believed in God.
faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour doesn't happen in a vacuum and that is kinda what you are putting forth as your "reason" for faith...

Jesus Himself had to learn from the OT and He also stated that what He learned He learned from His Father...I believe that He learned from reading the OT and the aid of the Holy Spirit?...as, I think, John 8:17-18 attests. I have experienced that it is the Father who draws you to Jesus Christ so if you don't have faith in God the Father to begin with then how would He accomplish that?
...to take this a bit farther...at the very least wouldn't it be YOUR internal "law" that would lead you to Jesus Christ and the need for forgiveness and salvation...romans 4:13-15

my faith came by reading the bible without questioning what it said...I didn't think that moses tried to work out the science of the water parting before he made his way through it...and I guess I took my cue from him. I believe that the bible is outrageous in its claims for a reason...and the reason can be summed up in this scripture."without faith it is impossible to please God." the bible also says that the awesome God is revealed from faith to faith....now if you don't have faith to believe the original "faith"...has the awesome God been truly revealed to you...or simply a copy in which a promise becomes nothing but quite ordinary...1 cor 2:9-10

I don't know how precise the wording has to be in order for you to accept the claim...but the Bible IS the only book that claims to speak the words and WORD of Almighty God...do you ascribe more honour to the "thoughts" of your head than those of the original "teachers" of the doctrine and why? (is it because you don't believe the gospel)
