Does the Issue of Universal Sovereignty make sense to you as an explanation for evil?

it used to for me, and now it doesn't.. i'm not sure how i was able to accept that argument now that i don't, but perhaps it was connected with my increasing compassion for people and their personal suffering as i've grown older.. now it seems like a sick excuse.

more like a bar-bet with satan and all of creation suffers.. i read paul's words and he has no rejoiner except to say in effect "sucks to be a vessel of wrath...glad i'm not one, but who are you to complain anyway, huh?

the bible says and I believe and have said recently that God would be merciful to people like that...based on His standard, which is Truth. ie. if you have never heard about God and you are an evil person...you would be judged on the evil you do/think.(you are a law unto yourself)

having Jesus Christ as your Saviour doesn't preclude you from judgement AT ALL...all believers will stand before the judgement seat(2 cor 5:10) knowing this we are admonished and helped to present ourselves acceptable to a Holy God.(romans 12:1-2)

for those of us who must walk by sight (for now), there is nothing wrong with using the bible to help learn about christ and god... as long as ... you look to christ first and foremost and over anything else.

otherwise, i do not see the point in saying you follow christ or you are a christian.

The United Nations doesn't work. why? because the majority of people believe that diplomacy works for reasonable people but not everyone in a leadership position is reasonable.

I think that you, Tammy are trying to bring "the nations" together with diplomacy...But Jesus kingdom is no part of this world and no one can be brought into it through diplomacy. Jesus said that you are brought into His eternal kingdom by believeing that He will bring you into it.

Vander, I think you are trying to bring Tammy into the kingdom by being diplomatic too...you have bought into the idea that you can bring people into the church by being diplomatic...but you can't bring anyone into the church...the Holy Spirit adds to the church.(acts 2:38,acts 2:47) He adds to the church by convicting people of what Jesus said: (john 8:24, john 6:47)

these ideas that "we" can somehow bring about the peace that surpasses understanding are anti-christ. (revelation 13:1-18)...Jesus alone is the Prince of Peace.(Isaiah 9:6-7), (acts 2:40)

I thank God for His mercy and love in bringing us this Ananias and Sapphira teaching "moment"...and obviously none of us would know what THAT is without the bible.(acts 5:4)

Vander, can you see how you can be likened to Ananias to Tammy's Sapphira and vice versa?

you must not swear by the gold(love) on the alter...but by the alter(Truth) itself...(matthew 23:17-22)

...MANY mentally disadvantaged individuals have made the choice to believe that Jesus Christ is their Saviour. are you at a greater disadvantage than them?

Serving Jehovah - by Law or by Love?

i have started reading in search of christian freedom by franz.

the idea of searching for christian freedom is very important to me, and i already know that this book is going to be very helpful in this regard.

on pages 12 and 13, i read something which has been on my mind recently regarding the removal of the mosaic law and its replacement with love through jesus christ.

I formed my questions in such a way as to only require a yes or no answer.

the scripture in john 8:24 says "Therefore I said to YOU that YOU will die in YOUR sins; for if YOU do not believe that I am He, YOU will die in YOUR sins."...?"...are words that Jesus said and I was asking for YOUR answer...

"do YOU believe this is true for YOU...and that is why YOU put YOUR faith in Jesus?"...your answer is, "I don't do it to save my life - my life belongs to him, whatever he chooses to do with it. I just do it because I love Him, and I follow Him for the same reason."...why is it so hard for you to say yes and yes?

are you saying that free will ALWAYS involves moving forwards or evolving?...

does an "incarnate" have the free will to choose to move forward...or...is he subject to something else besides his own free will?

with free will couldn't he choose to jump to the "good life"?...or no...there is no such thing as free will in your theory...really.

how do YOU equate the two?
