There is a King James edition called The Companion Bible with marginal notes on each page and is very well written by a bible scholar that many people have never heard of, E.W.Bullinger. A hebrew and greek scholar, this is one you will find helpful in your research. I think you can get it at www.kregalpublications.com..

All valid points and make you think about how reasonings are arrived upon there. I have to many to mention in this forum but I think it is valuable to open this for discussion for people who have questions on these subjects.Personally I am burned out on thinking to deeply on subjects like this for myself since I spent so many years of my life giving "public talks" on the same things but keep'em coming because it is a great way to keep the gray matter active!! GREAT JOB11

Are there "Rules" to Dating a JW? Why?
by MelbaToast ini know growing up there were certain unsaid rules about dating....i always had to have a chaperone or go in a group....can anyone think of all the obligatory rules that you had to follow....and did you follow them "word for word"?

I once heard a CO say that talking on the phone with another single person constituted "phone dating". May the dating gods have mercy on who is trying to date nowadays....

JW fun is at an all-time low
by Nosferatu inthere used to be much more enjoyable things in the jw religion that would give you some relief from the recycled information.
remember when there were two dramas at the conventions?
remember at the meeting, instead of having a public talk, a missionary would show slides from his recent trip, or there would be a movie shown from the wts?.

So then, here's a question...about "meditation"
by onacruse inrecent threads have got me to thinking about this.. i've never "meditated," insofar as i've always understood the term.. i always avoided even trying to "meditate," (and still have a reluctance even to consider doing so) because the wts not-so-obliquely suggested that "meditation" was parmount to 'opening your mind to demons.
' even though i've totally trashed the wts mumbo-jumbo, i still find in my soul a reluctance to embark on such a journey.. kate gave me a different perspective last night.. so, your comments, and especially, your experiences?.
craig.

I did meditation on a lot of things while in the group, you know, "spiritual things".I am happy to say the deepest thing I meditate on now is whether to drink a margarita or a whiskey sour.If meditation cannot resolve it I drink both.Sorry I can't be more helpful...CHEERS...

what is the weirdest counsel you ever received?
by nb-dfed inmy husband and i had a committee meeting because of underage drinking.
when he was being counseled, the p.o.
told my husband that he needed to make me wear different clothes to the meeting because it made some of the brothers unable to concentrate.

I was single and out "in service" with a single African-American sister and told that I was not to do that.WHY I ASKED? The people in the area might think we were married or ,God forbid, might be dating.Did the peaple in the area give a rat's a#$@ ? This from a religion where prejudice does not exist.Does narrow minded lunacy have any bounds?
