It's annoying how polarized people are about Obama. They either love him or hate him.
Kind of like the previous President? I find it interesting that the American electorate selected two mirror opposites in succesion. Maybe I am reading too much into this.

I find no biblical evidence that requires a follower of Jesus to be politically "nuetral."

I was on the left of the political spectrum as a JW. My political stance was also partially due to the over abundance of leftist teachers I had at the high school I graduated from. It was in the years between leaving the JWs and prior to becoming becoming a follower of Christ that I began to move to the right of the political spectrum.

I used to attend the DC in Amarillo with my parents back in the 80s. We used to make our annual Saturday night pilgrimage to the Big Texan for steaks.

Director John Hughes died today. He directed some of the iconic films of the 80s that spoke to Generation X, namely, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. Though my favorite John Hughes movie was Ferris Buhler's Day Off. The scene that resonated with me was the one in which the character Cameron was staring at Seurat's Sunday Afternoon on the Grand Jatte. The camera did a series of increasing close-ups on Cameron's face and the painting, showing the blankness of his life. It caused me to think about the blankness in my life, and I began to change it then by living life to its fullest.
