I wonder if the Freedom of Information Act can be used to get the dossier that will give the reasons for this recommendation?

Anyone have a Kindle or a Nook?
by Simon ini really don't like the ipad (or apple) but i think an ebook reader would be nice.
nothing made by sony though .... the amazon kindle and barnes & noble nook look to be the best (esp.
with the recent price reductions) but i'd like any insight from anyone who has one.

I looked hard at both, and I chose the Nook. The interface ability of the Nook was much easier for me than with the Kindle. I also like the color I get in the Nook as opposed to the black and white of the Kindle.

Tonight on Glenn Beck. The anti-Christ is Muslim.
by villabolo injoel richardson, author of the islamic antichrist: the shocking truth about the real nature of the beast, is going to be appearing on glenn beck's show tonight.
he believes that the whole book of revelations centers around the muslim world with an anti-christ muslim.
no wonder glenn likes him.. watch his videos and get a sense of where ultrafundamentalism may be leading us to.

XJW, I'm familiar with the theological term.
Even though Jesus said that it was not the time for his disciples to know the "time or dates", dispensationalists are in the habit of saying that this statement applied only at the time it was uttered. During the end times, however God would reveal it, according to the following scripture:
4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.--Daniel 12:4 New International Version
This gives them a way out to make whatever claim they want.
And this is exactly why I am not a dispensationalist. They are inconsistent in their application of scripture in order to fit their doctrinal presuppostions.

Are you a TRUE Christian?!?
by brotherdan ini've been thinking alot over the past few days on what makes a christian a christian, and i'm coming to some different conclusions than i ever have.... the watchtower likes to use the term "true believers" or "true christians".
i'm at a loss here lately.
you are either an atheist or you are not.

I think when a person calls herself a "true" Christian, then she has forgotten the gospel.
I have been listening to a lot of preaching from the "new Calvinists" (Timothy Keller, Mark Driscoll, Francis Chan & my own Pastor Alex Choi) and they point out that the gospel message is the realization that I am a sinner in desperate need of salvation. When I begin to compare my personal walk with God to others, I will either look down on those whose walk appears less spiritual than mine, or become jealous of those whose spirituallity appears to be greater than my own. In either case I have forgotten that it is neither my spirituality nor the spirituality of others that saves me, but it is the work of Christ on the cross.

I've asked any skeptics to withold negative comments from this thread.
And yet they have still posted smarmy and sniping comments.
Has Jesus personally spoken to me? If be "spoken" you mean in a clearly audible voice, then the answer is, no. I do not hear voices of any kind.
If by "spoken" you are referring to the infamous "still, small voice" (1 Kings 19:12), then the answer is also, no. That experience seemed to be an experience for Elijah in a time of doubt.
You did refer to what I call "felt led" theology. This is a very common thought in modern Evangelicalism. I have found that the use of "felt led" theology is a defense mechanism against those that might question the actions of the believer. Who would question something that God supposedly told them what to do? I do not find any scriptural basis for this view. If I am missing something reagarding this, then I will gladly look at scriptural evidence for this view.
I do, however, believe that Jesus "speaks" to me. It is through the pages of the Gospels that He speaks to me directly. Much in the same way that noteable figures of the past speak to me.

What is your definition of a "Fundi" or a Fundamentalist?
by brotherdan ini've been called a "fundi" many times in my discussions with people on the board, and i'd like to know what your definition is of a "fundi".
don't google it.
i just want to hear your personal definition.. i find it interesting because i don't go to any church.

Yet, most people on this site would call John Macarthur a fundamentalist. He is a biblical inerrantist and a staunch literal 6 day creationist as well.
I am also a biblical inerrantist. I am not so sure on whether there were six literal 24 hour periods of creation, or whether they were longer periods of time. Either way, new/old earth creationism is an "in-house" debate, and does not affect a believer's salvation (contrary to whtever the new earth creationists might say).

Fundamentalist= no fun, too much damn, and very little mental. I got this from John MacArthur off his Grace to You pulpit podcast.
