Spiritual Warfare

i know many of you who are regulars here have probably heard this before.

a dear loved one of mine has started attending the hall.

i need scriptural ammunition to combat this mind control....specifically on the "little flock" "great crowd" doctrines, the trinity, and jesus.

Aaron...I do indeed understand and thankyou for those words. I know that I should be understanding and non-confrontational.....but I feel like the more I wait the worse it'll become, until there's no helping her. It's like we can't even discuss religion anymore without her having this smug expression on her face like she's got it and I don't. And I'm like...."do you hear the crazy things you're saying??" It's frustrating....I guess what I need is a place where people understand my issue and allow me to vent.

One Devastating Bible Passage

i used the following quote from mark 9:38-40 in another thread, but thought it might be worthy to have people comment about it in its own thread: .

"john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expeling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.

but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me, for he that is not against us is for us.

I disagree that the two passages contradict one another. Jesus said who is not against them ( speaking or acting against them ) is with them. He also said he who is not with me ( clearly the man was with him since he was using Jesus' name, and thereby showing he gathered with Jesus, even if he didn't physically travel with them ).

Just my two pennies.

How do I pray?

i am still praying, all the time, but i am saying at prayer's end: in jesus name.

do i need to say that since i believe that jesus and god are one and the same?

how does one say a prayer these days.

Hey CG, I agree with the other posts that you should speak to God like he is someone close and very personal to you. And since you are asking about God's name in prayer, I assume you are called a christian.

However, I am reminded of a passage in the Bible, the book of St.John chapter 14 verse 13: "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father be glorified in the Son".

And also in the same book, chapter 15 verse 16: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

The emphasis is mine. These are two of a few scriptures where asking in Jesus' name is recommended. Now all of the above depends on if you are indeed called a christian and if you follow the bible. I hope this helps to answer your question.
