it seems as though many people come to this board and leave in a short space of time.. it's a pity.. there are people on this board who are very nice and polite even when discussing various views.
this leads to understanding and concern.
i would like to meet you people.. please post in here.. i term nice as being kind, not cursing, love for god almighty, thrives on the right things in life, not hurting other's feelings, etc.. blessed star

don't you just love it when you're out in service with one of those self-righteous elders and they get stumped at the door in field service by someone who knows more than they do!
so the lady goes: "who was the very first jw?
elder: stutter stutter
Narkissos,
I was wondering about that very scripture as well. Do most commentaries consider this "great cloud of witnesses" to be all the faithful mentioned in Chapter 11, or might they instead be those alive in the time of the author who are witnesses of Jesus? I am wondering because of the wording "we also" (kai hemeis), or "we in addition to" the "these all" of 11:39.

The funny thing about Hebrews 11:4 is that it doesn't say Able was Jehovah's witness, it says Jehovah was Able's witness, and that God is testifying of him....at least that's how I read it.

this thread is prompted by some comments on the "unbaptised publisher" thread which was going off-topic so here's the comments thus far:.
stevenyc:the christian meaning of baptism is to have salvation.
I'm pretty new to all this, but my take on it is that worshiping in spirit and truth means that the sacraments are primarily spiritual, so even if we are deprived of the physical symbols and acts baptism and communion and such can still take place spiritually.

i havn't posted for a little while having gone back into a lurking mode, for no other reason that i've not had any opinion or thought to post recently.. but i felt i wanted to do an update on a post i did about some valentine flowers i received.
i discovered who this lady was and despite still having a lack of self worth (like thinking why would this beautiful woman be interested in me) i plucked up the courage to speak to her and we hit it off from the get go.
she is such a gentle, warm and kind person - in fact it brings a tear to my eye just thinking about her lovely qualities.
*YAY* CS101--Good to hear

special colporteur bulletin
from winter 1928
(with somewhat racist comments)
Too strange! What a read. Thanks for posting.
But something is happening to me...seriously...
I find myself filled with a burning desire to get reinstated just so I can start going door-to-door, calling myself a colporteur, and saying, as the bulletin suggested, "I represent Judge Rutherford of New York..."
How cool would that be!?!
