quick update in case you didn't see it, evan and sarah had a date (nice date), but then later that night, they decided to ditch the camera crew in the woods.
What fun. These little gold diggers are trying to out boink each other to land a man who's net worth is about the same as a homeless person. Wait until they find out they've been bumping uglies with a poor man. When is the final show? I don't want to miss that one. heh heh heh

I liked the one with the guy and the long black haired dog. Not sure of the breed but it looks like it has dreadlocks. He's walking the dog and then wants to go into the bar to get a Bud Lite. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed. So, he puts the pooch on his head and pretends it's his hair. So, having this huge head of "dreadlocks" he's getting a lot of stares. The dude is acting casual and waltzes up to the bar. And when one gal tries to touch his "hair", it growls at her.

i was wondering if you have a response when you present stuff about pedo, un, rutherford, etc, and a jw says, "well they are imperfect people.. the last respons i got was, only jesus was ever the perfect channel of god - which of course i agree.. but it's like if you ever bring up anything about anything, the stock response is, "we'll it's an imperfect organization.... your response???.

Um ok, I will admit it. I watched every bloody episode while I crocheted. For one thing, it's not like Anna has exactly "lowered" herself to do this show.
She claims that she is not on any drugs. She even walked out of a radio show because they asked her if she was drugged. The huge fake breasts are off-putting. I just don't get how ANY woman can have those things in her body.
Still, I got a big kick out of MEGA-queen Bobby Trendy, her decorator. And her toothless Texan cousin showing up out of nowhere. After Anna takes her out to dinner, she then hits her up for twenty bucks.

in most of the world spanking (not beating) is considered a valid form of correction up to a point.
that point being at the time it is possible to reason with the child.

First off, I'm not FOR spanking, but I'm not AGAINST it either. It just depends on the circumstance it is being used.
And no one can convince me that there is NO DIFFERENCE between a swat, a spanking, and a beating. I've had all three during my upbringing, and let me tell ya, BIG DIFFERENCE. Also, I believe the reason for the hitting can make a difference. I was beaten for some of the most inane reasons. The worst was for forgetting to take out the kitchen trash. Now, it is my adult opinion, that nothing could have excused the lashing I got, but the idiotic reason just adds to the injustice I feel to this day.
Another thing, I think that ALL aspects of a child's upbringing has to be considered. If the kid has loving parents that are involved and nurturing, then an occasional swat on the tush for a transgression isn't going to leave them scarred for life. To put a microscope on just ONE aspect of a child's life and declare it is going to do irreversible damage is just plain absurd.
So, a parent doesn't hit a kid. But they neglect the him or her by not feeding or bathing them. Or, like another poster wrote, abused them verbally. Those things can be just a damaging, if not more so. Burned in my memory are some of the very hurtful things that were said to me. More so than the beatings, and believe me, I got beat A LOT.
As for my own children. They are a handful. Yes, I have swatted on occasion. AND yes, in public. I DARE anyone to say anything to me. Generally, it is very evident that it is needed because my verbal admonitions are not being heeded and the transgression is serious enough to warrant such action. However, I always try to talk first and reason with them. I am very patient, but some things I will not tolerate.
As I write this now, my son has lost his privilege of playing Nintendo for today. As this point, THAT weapon in my arsenal seems most effective.

ok, i'm watching the "o'reilly factor", they just aired the case of two hs students who engaged in oral sex on a bus in silverlakes maryland while several other students cheered them on and the bus driver did nothing.
the principal of the school system didn't inform the school board until after the local newspaper broke the story and he refuses to say how the students will be punished.
This is a dumb, fluffy "news" story. They had sex: whoop de doo! They had sex on a school bus: stupid but, whoop de freakin doo! Who cares? There are a lot more new worthy things going on....
Sad is the day when teenagers having sex on a school bus, while being cheered by classmates, is no big deal.

we have noticed more and more that our middle son is stealing.
it was just little things before.
but the other day we found a $50 note in their room.
A friend and I were busted at a supermarket for stealing when we were 10.
My friend had older sisters and commented that they stole all the time. No big deal.
Hence my life of crime commenced. Got away with it a few times. We got bolder. And then we got caught and were shown NO MERCY.
We were taken in the office of the supermarket and had to sign a statement. Then, the police were called and we were taken down to the Huntington Beach police station and thrown in a holding cell complete with iron bars. We were even searched for drugs and weapons by some lady putting her hands up my shirt and down my pants and "copping a feel". Ugh! I was completely mortified!
After they took all our information, then our parents were called. I prayed that my Mom, instead of my Dad, would come to pick me up. No such luck. I still remember seeing his face through the one way glass. It was beyond angry. He didn't beat me. I know now it was because he probably would have seriously injured me. Anyway, I was grounded for a loooong time and any contact with my friend was cut off.
Never shoplifted again.

I guess what has struck me about this story is the PUBLIC nature of it.
Apparently it was no big deal for the kids involved in the "activity".
You know what? I think it's a damn shame.
I saw a story on TV this week about some teenagers in Florida making their own porn movie. A 17 year old boy recruited a 14 years girl to "star" in it with a few of his buddies. He said he was going to pay her two thousand dollars. The boy was going put it on the Internet. Someone found out about it. She stated, herself, she didn't think there was anything wrong with doing it at the time. Both were brought up on charges of making child porn by the local authorities.
Sex is just something else to do when hanging out.
