  why is it i always end up working for companies that don't give a crap about their employees well-being?

  i've been here since march as a temp; got a full-time offer in december and almost immediately the workload has increased and there is no new hires are on the horizon.

  the political games in some of these departments is mind-blowing.

  I thought Might Mouse was cool when I was 5. Don't think I was sexually attracted to anyone at 5, though.

  I think it's GOOD, not bad, to be judgemental. It may be a game of semantics, but I think the ability to use judgement to be a positive trait in a human being. It's no different than having an opinion on a particular situation. Judging, IMO, is not the same as condemning. Though, that seems to be the meaning of the word now.

  How an individual decides to express their judgement/opinion is another story. Self-righteous public condemnation of whatever situation/lifestyle/decision is annoying, to say the least. Especially from those who believe their opinions come direct from "god" via a many- time revised ancient text.

  i received this e-mail from my sister (known here as 'nikita') on february 12th:

  hi guys, just to fyi we had a fire that started in our dryer on tuesday night-fortunately, i was home (with ann's baby) and caught it at the early stages and was able to call the fire dept (another fortunate thing was our firemen just happened to be having a meeting and responded before the whistle sounded from the 911 center.

  ) but, even so, by the time they got here it was only minutes away from blowing as at the top of our basement stairs the temp.

  I had a very lucrative babysitting business when I was 14. Good sitters are very hard to find, and I had tons of referrals. Didn't pay taxes either.

  Then, my family moved.

  I made friends with a girl whose family managed a resort hotel. So, my first taxpaying job was a hotel maid. Some people were unbelievable slobs. I have quite a few disgusting guest stories. Some days my "uniform" was a bikini because if we didn't have too much work to do that day, my girlfriend and I would go lay out by the pool as soon as we were done.
