  Ladies only!!

  got this story from a friend....last night, my friends and i went to a ladies night club.

  one of the girls wanted to impress the rest of us, so she pulled out a $10 bill.

  when the male dancer came over to us, my friend licked the $10 bill and stuck it to his butt cheek!

  ok. most of us here at one time believed in the teachings of the wts.

  thankfully most of us are beyond that.. i have noticed that at times i will find some other way, any other way, to avoid using the name jehovah.. and i know i'm not alone.

  When I hear or type Jehovah its very much like the reaction I have to someone I know but never felt I could bond with. I don't react much at all, but there is a definite urge to just avoid that one. The personality of the WT's Jehovah is one that turns me off, and I've always been to cool to that portrayal of a god.

  Good thing this thread wasn't about the WTBTS because it would have given me a spastic colon!!

  I'm a new churchgoer, communion question

  i've only in the last month started attending a non-denominational church.

  i was absolutely shocked by what i experienced, and not because of the lightening i thought might strike me down as i crossed the threshhold.

  while many were attentive and friendly, no one pried into my religious history, or tried to railroad me into coming back.

  Why aren't you guys working?

  as a stay-at-home mom, i can occasionally find a few minutes every few days to play on the computer, but the amount of activity on this forum during us working hours is pretty surprising.

  folks from other parts of the world notwithstanding, how are you american members able to post during work hours?.

  i told my mom that i tried to commit suicide and she asked me who was going to have a bible study with my son.

  there was no other word's from her other than that.

  That is either one cold sociopath or she's so spacey she just blocks out anything she can't handle. Either way don't feel bad about telling them to back off with the proselytizing....You need them to listen to you and understand whats causing you to feel that way. Ramming in all the dub doctrine hasn't been the answer or this situation wouldn't have arisen. Tell them you want breathing space.

  I grew up in the dubs too ....Don't make the same mistake I did. I never went to a counselor because of the stigma it would have on my family. The gossip circles are horrid. I gave in/give in many times just to keep getting the CONDITIONAL love that they've been programmed to dole out. What sort of emotional toll will something like that ultimately take on you?

  Focus on your self-worth first. It'll make you able to scrap with the best of the guilt trippers and trounce them.

  You're probably referring to the reorganization they did about about 4 years back. The President and the directors (all part of the Governing Body) resigned from those positions in the WT Corporation.

  Then the Organization created about three new corporations and moved about assets, functions, etc. among them. Pretty sure the WT lawyers came up with this scheme as a shell game to minimize any losses from the succession of lawsuits they'd face.

  But its just a shell game because the GB is still supposedly in charge of teachings. As for alot of them bailing...I haven't seen a mass exodus but many of their teens sure aren't falling for this crud.....They're really fortunate having had the internet practically all of their lives. Regular attendance at meetings has dropped though, and I can happily say so has contributions in our area and at the circuit assemblies I've gone to.

  Questions on Adam & Eve?

  it has been a long time since i opened a bible but these questions keep coming up in my head so i thought i would ask our all knowing here.

  according to the bible adam & eve ate the forbidden fruit and became embarrassed of their bodies so they covered up.

  this makes no sense since they had been naked and where having sex so why were they embarrassed?

  so it is well known that this religion has spies...my mom used spies at my school to get information about me.

  many haveposted their own experiences about spies.

  i want to know more about it on a large scale.. like, "watchers" at a convention?

  Well I did post this once before but my MS dad and an elder spied on the separated wife a fellow dub to help him have some hard evidence of adultery. They were too inept though and could be easily seen and recognized. She actually waved to them on one day. The day they tried to rummage through the garbage she called my mom and told her to tell my Dad the only reason she didn't call the cops on him was because of her friendship with my Mom. She was only giving this one warning though. That ended my dad's stint as a spy. I wouldn't really consider myself having been spied on. Blatantly monitored yes.

  today, right around the time i was expecting nancy home from school, on this her second day back, the doorbell rings.

  guess who?.

  i will simply cut and paste the entry i made into the now very detailed log i am keeping since nancy's suicide attempt.
