i called her last night from 9pm to 11pm and this morning i called at 8am and there was no answer each time i called.
if she had been out earlier last night, it sure seemed as if she never came home.
You are a trooper. I'd have packed it in after getting that hurt ankle! ....Okay, I probably even wouldn't have run after the bus.

i was doing some research for one of my courses and i discovered that the geneology of jesus, outlined in matthew chapter 1 and luke chapter 3, are different.
does anyone know why?
So much of the gospel is probably mythologized from the reality, so I'd say the lineages were both made up as well to bolster the legitimacy of JC as Messiah.

so we have our circuit overseer this week.
we're getting the crap kicked out of us (figuratively) for our meeting attendance.
we have attendance in the 70% range for some of our meetings.
Maybe things were a little different in some foreign language assemblies. But I clearly remember 4 day assemblies (of about 8.5 - 9 hours each), that were cut to thursday afternoons plus 3 days, then just the 3 days.
In the congregation, I'm currently on file with, the huge problem is book study attendance. It was 52% for the congregation with the particular group I was assigned to being about 40%. The TMS is about 65%, and the sunday meeting is about 70-75%

As for the Kingdom Melodies, I can/could only call up to mind some spattered verses of a a few songs. Having someone like me do audio beyond the mics for the congregation was funny. I messed up the songs a few times at the old congregation that still used the music on tapes.

i myself have been suspiciously viewed when referring to older publications that the local elders were unfamiliar with, being reminded not to "go beyond what is written".
The similarity in wording might have implications for the theory that 4:6c is a marginal note for copyists that has nothing to do with the content in the context, unless we suggest that 4:6d was altered to massage the gloss into the text.

But on rereading it I see how the part I marked in red is implicitly making that connection for me, and all I simply did was write it more explicitly. Is 4:6d the clause that says "that you may not be puffed up individually in favor of one against the other"?
If so then how's about your own suggestion turned around a bit. Instead of 4:6d being massaged to fit with the gloss, it was already there, and it "showed the way" ;) to insert the copyist's note.
I agree with peacefulpete about the verse flowing much better without that rule of sorts.. That's about adding to teachings and holy writ. But Paul's talking about not judging others, then he mentions how even Apollos and himself are applying this to themselves so that......[cut out possible inserted note]....they'd also learn not to be putting themselves against each other.

You'd think the demonized Catholic church fathers could have put their crack pipe down long enough to get their damn stories straight before they decided which books would make up the canon.
Well from what was in the alternatives (with stuff like a temperamental kid Jesus with a nasty streak, or Jesus laughing as someone else got crucified in his place), those chosen four were the least problematic for their beliefs. Too bad, cuz the other gospels had some thoughtful stuff here and there.
But somebody did try to make a harmonized verion of all four gospels.

I wouldn't put it past the CIA to be using drones, tweaked to look out of the ordinary as psychological warfare. A way to divert attention from the real surveillance ops done by satellite and very high altitude stealth spy planes.
