john 10:16 is one of those overused scriptures that seem to prove the dual destiny doctrine.
(john 10:16) 16 ?and i have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also i must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd.
What is amazing in all this is that the Society takes a verse in John referring to the unity of the church (drawing together sheep from different folds into "one flock") as primary support for a two-destiny doctrine.
I don't know why many jws can't see this. Like their constant harping of a heavenly hope and and earthly hope when Ephesians 4:4-5 clearly says being called to one hope.

Maybe God "the process" is simply devoid of consciousness and intent. It's workings are amoral as a result.

reports from the italian capital, rome, say an armed man has threatened to blow himself up in a hall where around 2,000 members of the jehovah's witnesses church are holding a meeting.
Thanks for those references Blondie. Especially the one mentioning the suspect who was 39 at the time. If that guy really was responsible for all those bombings, its depressing that he got away with them. I didn't think the Sydney bombing could have been the incident mentioned in La Repubblica. It must be like Neo said, another unrelated incident, or maybe the journalist made some factual error.

According to that article from La Repubblica, he had also devastated another building owned by JWs in Australia. I remember there was a bombing of a KH in Sydney Australia. But I checked up and saw that it was in July of 1985. Since this man was only 14/15 yrs old back then, I don't think thats the incident being referred to here. I couldn't find anything else on that point. Maybe others will have more success.

eh peter jennings is doing a show on ufos tonight...i think he is a good news man with a level head, some sass, and a lot of fair minded reporting..i hope this show is good and he sticks to his usual reporting style.
it was fun watching him on daily show on comedy channel..
The only new bits of info for me were a UFO report from 2000 and seeing what Peter Davenport looks like (I've heard him a few times on the radio program Strange Days). At least the voices of skeptical inquiry were given a fair shake. If it was a FOX production it would have been more entertaining.
I'm not very convinced by eyewitness reports alone. I remember as a preteen reading about this footage showing shiny reflecting objects which scientists identified as birds. I thought to myself, ohhh pleassse like what moron could mix up metallic objects with birds. Stretching it aren't they in trying to debunk it?Well it was almost a decade later but I ended up being one of those morons. It was a small flock of seagulls performing the coolest maneuvers and loops about each other. The sun was reflecting off of them and only when I got a few meters closer did the illusion become clear.
poor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.
the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.
last weekend she actually looked a little better.

she's living in ottawa and is mostly confined to a wheel chair.
her feet are worse and can barely walk.

Thank you PP for that post. There's so much extra cannonical material I'm unfamiliar with, but these kinds of comparisons are great because I get both a better grasp of the overall genre and some specifics.
