  How did you feel about 'fake' witnesses?

  i'm sure you know the ones i mean ... they decided to have a family 'present day' on dec 26th each year so that the kids could announce what presents they got while the rest of us 'zealots' were getting the piss taken out of us.. at the time, i could not understand how or why they did it or got away with it - it seemed obvious to me that thwy were celebrating christmas and we were not supposed to.

  but hell, what did i know ... i was only a kid ... not an elder .

  now, i kind-a-think "yeah, do what's right for your kids" but also "you're not fooling anyone!

  I went through phases myself...from zealous to overly zealous and back to just ordinary. During my zealous days I used to be especially judgemental of others who were doing 'less' then I was...or who were 'weak'. Cliques are a terrible thing, and quite often you could find the zealots together back stabbing those less spiritual...that was me and my elderette buddies.

  Now, as far as my own personal standing in the 'troof' goes, I prefer to be either one, or the other. In, or out...no mucking around. However, I also have have family in, and they are doing through an inactive patch (yipee) and instead of judging them, I salute them. My younger brother is asking us for ideas for what to buy his worldly girlfriend for xmas etc...and my younger sister snaps at her joho friends when they ask her about her meeting attendance. So now, I rejoice for those who's WT trained spirituality has declined.

  The Big Dry - Report #3

  the heat of the fast-approaching summer is with us now "downunder", worsening the already dire drought.

  now the fires have started in the past few weeks and the heat (41 degrees celsius in sydney) of the past couple of days has made the eastern states a tinder-box.

  rain is sorely needed and those accustomed to prayer have been praying for rain.

  The Big Dry - Report #3

  G'day Ozzie...my sister emailed saying it was stinking hot in Sydney again last night, but not as bad as Sunday night. You will be pleased to know I am doing my part in the water restrictions and am showering with a friend

  I have seen snow heaps...but only on TV. Does it feel as nice as it looks? I asked myself this same question when I saw your pic Funch

  i have taken a break from the baby wait to come to the board and see what is happening.

  recently i had a run in with some people from another board, that also attend this board.

  in a search of my name on this site, i see that people (two weeks later) are still mentioning this and me.

  A baby boy dragon...cool!!

  November 21st is my youngest daughter's birthday...I would say your wife is gonna have the little ankle biter any day soon. We are all looking forward to the news, please let us know when the day arrives...what a grand day that will be for you Dragon. I do believe it will be your shout at the pub!!

  ps...you have been given some good advice from LB...you must tell your wife it was all your fault, you are sorry, and that you won't let it happen it again, and she may show you some mercy. If you don't, be prepared for your wife to 'rip it off' with her bear hands while she is in labour.

  Lets sue City Hall

  a jw relative fell over on a broken curb while out witnessing some years back.

  relative has eventually sued the city council (with help of 'elders' of course).

  the court case comes up shortly, i am curious of the outcome.. is this an example of a double standard or what??

  Well this is true. I imagine it would be an indivdual suing the council or a third party rather then the WT society suing.

  These "damages" cases are getting more pathetic by the hour.

  Forbidden Pleasures ......

  Taxes honey!! Taxes!!!! The government/council have a duty of care. The consideration for paying our taxes is to provide a safe environment, among other things.

  I would be interested to know who they would be suing...there are other parties no doubt involved...as the council outsource most of their street maintenance services.

  Go ahead and support a man that would do this, but is that the way you want to come across?

  Yes it is. I do not fear anyone who may wish to attack me or make me a personal target because I have spoken my thoughts and offer support for someone who is indeed deserving.

  Trauma, how I come across to you, means very little to me. How I come across to my friend, means more then you'll ever know. I have disagreed with you in my own private way many times, but I have never once posted with the intention to turn away your friends by highlighting what I perceive to be your faults. I wouldn't be so arrogant.

  Where there is an apology, there is humility...where there is humility, there is yeilding...where there is yeilding, there is peace. Take it or leave it.
