before i disassociated myself a month ago, i sent out a brief letter to a few of my friends to let them know about my choice and my reasons for so choosing.
the responses varied.
one of the common responses i received was "i'm sorry you were stumbled.
The JW's use the word "stumbling" and "doubts" to make it seem that YOU couldn't get over a simple problem, and that it is all YOU. THAT is arrogent and and attitude "puffed up with pride." But, it is also a defence mechinism designed to make the user of the term feel that they are still right, discounting your reason for leaving as inadequite.

a recent thread talked about certain elder's views of jw youth posting on myspace.com.
it seems the gb is trying to maintain the "image" of jw youth, as dedicated to full time service, pioneers, ministerial servants, all reaching out for greater "privileges of service.".

Why would you say that she wouldn't be a pioneer anytime soon? Is it because she doesn't say that she's planning on being one or something else? She seems like quite a normal "good standing" dub to me.

i was jut reading the silent lambs e-mail regarding the august 2005 w/t that subtly reinforces the position that child molestation crimes "may be reported" to authorities.
according to silent lambs, this is in line with a 2002 directive from the service dept to elders that said it is an individual decision, whether parents decide to alert the police or not and no congregation sanctions would be applied either way.
this is a policy that thumbs it's nose at mandatory reporting laws and puts children at risk.

i dont know if someone has started a thread about this yet but screw it, if so here's another one.
my cousin, brooke's husband, just called me and told me that brooke is not doing good, she has to have another surgery on her leg next week and she's in a lot of pain and i know once she is feeling better she will appreciate reading everyones thoughts and well wishes so lets give them to her!!!

i know an elder (hermann) who is so fat and out of shape that his wife has to mow the lawn and shovel the entrance.
she also works hard inside to make his food and keep everything clean.
he is 73 and she is 70.. i wonder what verse he uses to make her do so much?

one was taken about one month ago, near a beach where our family was camping.
my parents boated over to see us, and it was a beautiful day.
i happened to take one of the best photos i've ever seen of my mom: relaxed and confident, smiling with eyes twinkling, enjoying the beautiful day.
