Bye ... don't let the cherbil bite you in the butt on your way out.
Just remember, you're always welcome to come back and your friends will always be waiting for you here.

due to funkyderek i have come to the decision to leave this board.
when i posted on the current gay thread in a way that i thought would stimulate thinking and lighten up the seriosness of the thread and have a laugh, he and others put me down publically labelling me.
so i find it difficult now to continue posting knowing that someone has influenced others into thinking that i'm not worthy of being here because my phrasing and spelling is bad and that i'm apparently a "hyporite".

i was df'd about 2 months ago and decided to take this time to explore the teachings i have spent my life spewing to others.
well, it took very little time to discover it was a bunch of crap.
i have learned about the lies and inconsistant teachings and what not.
Just take your time. Becareful you don't jump from the frying pan into the furnace. After I left the JW's my family and I started looking at other churches and so on and that was fine, but the whole time I was reading not just religious books, but books about religion in general, religious history, biblical history. I'd recommend doing the same, because when it comes down to you the history of your religion (Christianity, Islam ect.) is just as important as the type of that religion you follow.

colonoscopies are no joke , but these comments during the exam were quite humorous...... .
"take it easy, doc.
you're boldly going where no man has gone before!.
haha!
my parents where not raised as a jw but converted to the truth true field service.
i was raised as a jw by them.. i have told them all the things that i've learned through this board and several books about the wts.
they are open enough to discuss these things with me.
I can't say I've had similar experience with my parents as you have yours. My parents refused to discuss anything, and when I did bring up anything at all they immediately discounted it as lies and refused to hear any more. You are very fortunate that your parents will discuss this with you at all as obviously they've been instructed not to by the WTS. Sure, they may not have voiced the same opinion as you, but perhaps they're not ready to? I couldn't imagine leaving the JW's later in life with a lifetime of pushing people (non-JW's) away from me and how I'd settle into society after that. A scarey though. I wouldn't push them, but give them time. Maybe they'll leave, maybe they'll stay but whatever they do it'll more then likely be them doing what they feel is best for them.

i got a phone call from a person that i gave my phone # to.
and this person said that gays are not welcome here and this is not what this board was really about.
i told them that this is only one part of the crap that the wts did to people and that we are people too.
"cherbal in my butt"......um.......it's spelled gerbil
lmao ... I was wondering what the heck he was saying! cherbal??? lol I'd hope the person trying that didn't eat corn the night before. Ouch!

Some people can't get over their narrow-minded, "I'm right an everyone else is wrong," attitudes. There's a lot of hate in this world and that's what it stems from. Until people start realizing that we're all just people, human beings no matter what we think, look like or do then people are going to hate other people. I'm not really a religious person any longer, but as I recall Jesus NEVER said anything about hating others because of their diferences, EVER.

hi everyone, i know this has been brought up before.
but i was just wondering, do any of you know of any home business, with an easy start-up, legit, and a nice little income earner.
i am finding it tough, i am raising 2 teenage boys and my rent has gone up alot, starting dec. 1. .
Perhaps you should list your skills and we could go from there. There's tons of ideas that we could suggest, but if you don't have the needed skills there's no point in suggesting ideas in that field (search and peck you can't really type for people and make money).

i never knew this...just found it today.
made me giggle.. payment of sales tax on literatureon 17 january1990 the u.s. supreme court made a ruling that sales tax must be paid on religious literature.
the following month, a letter from the watchtower society went out to all congregations stating that there would no longer be a set price for literature but that they would be given to the public on a donation basis.
I remember asking for money at doors to "cover the cost of printing". Turns out it cost something like 5 cents to make and they sold for a hefty 400% profit.
