Letters from readers - National Post

its been a while since i posted here...hope everyone is well.. some in canada may read the national post newspaper...friday they had an editorial entitled "halfway between religion and cult", discussing the blood issue as it relates to the the surviving sextuplets in british columbia, canada.

i decided to respond, and to my suprise it become the "letter of the day", published in this weekend's edition of the post.

below is what i wrote.

i was talking this morning while i was preaching with this sister, and she asked me: do you know that the preaching work will be done soon?

i asked her: what do you mean?

she responded back: a sister (and i know her also) told me that her brother heard that the preaching is gonna be over because there are only two countries that jw can't go because it's too dangerous and yada yada yada.

GUMBERS NEEDS YOUR ADVISE.......

i got a pm from gumby this morning.

as i predicted, he's being love-bombed by the congregation and invited out everywhere.

part of this is because he was very popular before and is a very likeable guy, but part of it is to try and suck him back in so thoroughly, he'll never be able to escape.

i know we were sold a lie in believing god was only dealing with the wt and to obey them is to obey god.

what puzzels me is that in rejecting the wt so many also reject their belief in god.

surely they believed that god existed as witnesses.

People say that Hank will give you a million dollars when you leave town.
All I ask is for $50,000 right now as a sign of good faith.
Nothing.

But ... don't you have to kiss his backside first?

Then many feel since their 'prayers' are not anwered right away, or in a way they would like/think they should be, quickly then claim atheistism or agnostism.

God wouldn't want such a selfish person anyway. He is jealous after all, and they'd be worshiping the false god of me-ism. There's a nice warm place in the earth's core for them and if you listen closely at the mouth of a volcano, you can hear them screaming. Isn't that sweet?
