You're right! I forgot about ol' Eli and his disappearing sacrifice trick! Yep, that's a very good example. "Where's your god? Perhaps he's on the potty and is delayed?" Yeah, classic!
Of course, when he was done, the sacrifice disappeared. He'd've appeared quite the ass if Jehovah hadn't come thru.

About 6 months after leaving the bOrg, a neighbor invited me to an Easter Service. I went.
It was eerie. I was an atheist at that point, so the "house of demons" thing wasn't an issue. But just being surrounded by believers participating in their rites was surreal.
Imagine being in a room full of people that believed there was a special banana in a box on the altar, and though no one was allowed to look at it, they all completely believed it was true. And further, they believed 100% that the banana was going to give them eternal life someday. They sang songs to and about the banana, became teary-eyed listening to someone talk about the banana, and sincerely invited you to join them in their worship of the banana.
That's how it felt. It wasn't too "appealing" ;-)

But Dude, he was Christ. Can you show any examples of imperfect Bible Heroes that laugh derisively at those that disagree with them? I don't recall Jesus ever doing so, either.
I don't get people that are rude, then defend their rudeness. I'm rude sometimes, but when called on it I apologize. I don't understand the "it's ok for me to be rude" 'tude. (And imagine how absolutely stupid you'll feel if you ever come to the conclusion that you're wrong?)

I'm MORE confused by this: I keep reading his posts! I mean, I don't read them word for word, but I skim thru them. Why? I thought about this for awhile and I think I might have it.
It's like an optical illusion. If someone sends me an email with the subject "optical illusion", I'm gonna look. I LOVE incongruity. I love having my mind bent over backwards and told truthful lies. It's fun.
Reading obnoxious posts is kinda like that. Here's a human -- a real, living, breathing human, with a job and a family and a taste for beer -- that is acting like an utter ass. And not just once, like any of us might do. But over and over. Claiming all along that his opponents in the psuedo-debate are losing, while he is clearly winning over no one. Like one of those damn Magic Eye things, I just can't quit looking.

If your comfort level with the material allows it, try to be casual. Think of the audience as a bunch of your friends, and you're just telling them a story. Gestures are natural, you probably do them all the time in conversation. So if you can, allow yourself to use them. Not the manufactured ones, but your natural ones. Anything you can do to make the situation seem more normal for you is a good thing.

Fire from Salt Water
John Kanzius has found a way to burn salt water with the same radio wave machine he is using to kill cancer cells.
Kanzius was test his external radio-wave generator to see if it could desalinate salt water, and the water ignited. A university chemist determined that the process is generating hydrogen, which can be burned as fuel.
While the phenomenon is interesting, it is not yet practical for energy generation. More energy is consumed by the radio frequency device than is produced for burning. Efficiency-wise, they are presently at around 76 percent of Faraday's theoretical limit. (Other Hydrogen-from-Water methods, such as the one being pursued by Bob Boyce (http://freeenergynews.com/Directory/Transportation/Bob_Boyce/), are approaching 7x).

I glanced thru your post and this phrase caught my eye.
While not believing in Intelligent Design, I can explain its premise and give examples of what they use as evidence. Can you explain the premise of evolution thru natural selection? Can you provide examples of the evidence used to support it? I'm not asking for a recitation of Evolution 101, just hit the basics. I ask because I seriously doubt your claim that you've 'examined all sides thoroughly'.
If you find that you can't explain what it is that you don't believe, it might not hurt to run thru some posts from SeattleNiceGuy. He spent several hours putting together some simple examples of evidence for evolution, and in so doing, explains some of the mechanisms by which it is thought to have occurred. After reviewing them, could you summarize the evolutionist's arguments? I'm not asking you to refute them, only to summarize them so it's clear that your earlier quoted assertion is accurate.
