i just got a fresh supply of yellow pages books.

three huge volumes in a plastic bag.

it's my 3rd shipment this year, from various suppliers, i assume.

Zach's 10th birthday party!

zachary turns 10 tomorrow, and had his birthday party today.

he had a great time, several of his friends attended, and of course he got some nice presents.

gina (his mom, freedomfrog) organized the whole thing, including arranging for several games, a pirate theme, goody-bags, and the like.

my 9-year-old son looked at the digital clock the other day and pointed out that the digits 4, 5, and 6 have something in common not shared with the other digits.

Kicked off a plane for praying! Or *was* it for that...?

the headline reads: "praying passenger is removed from plane" i figured it was some poor shmuck whose religion requires him to babble or mumble or something and someone smelled "terrorist".

but no, he was a just praying, maybe even quietly.

the problem was, he was standing at the back of the plane prior to take off, he had begun a prayer, and apparently was unable to stop once he starts.

i went to wal-mart tonight to buy beer.

i also bought a ton of other junk i could've lived without (food, and such).

but i figure if you're making a beer run, make the best of it.

Was it better to be an elder's wife, or a CO's wife?

a friend of mine was asking about the cult we all hold so dear, and i was explaining some of it to her.

i told her about elder's wives, and how they have both the prestige of that position, plus the social standing.

logically, it would be even better for a co's wife.

when i first saw the previews, i thought, "hey, another mythbusters!

" i don't mind a copy as long as it's good, so i was down with it.

my son said the same thing, though he was a little put-off by the obvious "copy cat" aspect.
