Understandably. But consider that she's just doing and suggesting what she thinks is best. She REALLY believes the end is "right around the corner" (just like it's been since the 1870's) and now is not the right time to have children. She's doing what she thinks god wants her to. It's silly to you and me, but not her.

I don't know what to say to wake them up. But I hear ya.
Best advice: Try not to push her too hard, or feel too badly toward her. She's a victim, and the grip of mind control is very strong. If you come off like an opposer or an apostate, you may lose access to her forever. Be careful.

since it is illegal for a corporation to have any social interests (a social corporation is an oxymoron), and since the entire purpose of a corporation is to make money for its shareholders, why do they need to be a coroporation to spread the "good news"?.
do the shareholders amass wealth?
are they allowed to sell their stock?.
Could the organization own property if it wasn't a corporation? Wouldn't the property be owned by individuals otherwise?
I agree that there are significant CYA aspects to it, but there are property-ownership ones, too.

i got my history a little mixed up in a post earlier tonight, trying to recall an error in a watchtower picture a few years ago.
the picture was of the scarlet-colored wild beast, but it had crowns.
the bible says this beast doesn't have crowns, it's the other one that has the crowns.

Yeah, you never should have. But there was one particular picture that caused a stir because it was scarlet, but had crowns. Some of the JW's of the time tried to dismiss it, saying it was actually the fur on the beast's head and not a crown. But somebody dug around and managed to find the original picture.
I THINK it was a Revelation book picture of the wild beast (not scarlet) that had been lifted, flipped, colored scarlet, and dropped into a Watchtower. This may have been longer ago than I am thinking, perhaps as long as 10-12 years while I was still a JW.

The Bible says this beast doesn't have crowns, it's the other one that has the crowns. Further investigation showed that the picture was just a scarlet-colored version of a picture of the OTHER beast lifted from another publication. Whoever PhotoShop'd it failed to delete the crowns.
Was there ever a thread on this? I can't find one, despite using our nifty new search tool.
Or am I, once again, just making stuff up?

the reason i ask is because i've been wondering if the wts ever removed those subliminal images...specifically those on pages 52 and 159?.

There is an image of some wild beast in a Watchtower or something. But there's a problem: He has crowns, I believe, or horns. Something he isn't supposed to have. Something that his scarlet-colored counterpart DOES have. Further poking about finds that he was actually copied from a picture of the scarlet-colored one, recolored, but the extra details were unintentionally left in place.
Mistakes do happen with these folks. Even big ones.

i went to a holiday party at work today and was totally surprised to win the "caregiver of the year" award.
i work as a cna for an elder care agency and have been there 9 months.
but i have more than 15 years experience with the elderly.. anyway, several of my clients wrote in letters to our corporate offices to explain why i should win the award.

i just loved having you guys proselytizing on the other side of the street when we were tracting.
i am a recovering mormon with a believing spouse / family.
I don't know about equivalents to 'testimony meetings', but JW's refer to their religion as "The Truth". They will ask each other, "How did you learn the Truth?" or "How long have you been in the Truth?" They claim that the Bible interprets itself, so they don't "interpret" it -- God does. He's not very good at it, apparently, since their doctrine changes constantly. :-)
