Hey SBF,
I confess i didn't read your entire post. what i did read sounded very black and white, either/or, and the world tends not to work that way.
I rejected the bible, and thus any religion based on it. I have concluded that the bible both proves and disproves various doctrines, such as the trinity. it isn't harmonious, as we were taught, but instead contradicts itself. So there are certain doctrines I realy can't label 'wrong'.
However, i can still read the bible academically and decide if I think it supports certain beliefs or not. in the cases of blood and disfellowshipping, to name two, i think that it does not. I think JW's are wrong in their belief that the bible teaches those things.
I don't have to believe something else in order to make that call, do I?

If you believe in nothing, then how do you know JW's are wrong?
by slimboyfat inmany who leave the witnesses go on to affirm other recognisable sets of beliefs.
some become christians of various sorts, others tend toward patriotism as a kind of rejection of the anti-patriotic stance of the watchtower, while yet more simply affirm in general the secular values of mainstream society.
do you believe jehovah's witnesses are wrong?

Zach realized something pretty cool the other day
by AlmostAtheist inmy 9-year-old son looked at the digital clock the other day and pointed out that the digits 4, 5, and 6 have something in common not shared with the other digits.

Here's a thread to help you find the Revelation book changes: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/126117/1.ashx
I'm not sure what you're asking on the other questions. Do you want to know what a District Convention is like? (When 1,000's of JW's all meet in the same place for a weekend) I think that's what you're shooting for. If so:
A District Convention is like a 3-day meeting, Friday-Sunday. (Are they 2-day now? Not sure) There are talks upon talks upon talks -- it is seriously one of the most boring experiences imaginable. The worst in my opinion is the "symposiums", where 3-4 brothers give short talks on the same subject over an hour. The plays you refer to are the "dramas" which everyone looks forward to as the only "cool" part of the whole deal. Oh, and they usually release a new book or two at these things.

Wow, them's some seriously nasty vittles!
(Any of which would be preferable to attending a meeting, BTW!)
