  i was rooting for eight belles, the only filly in the field.

  the gutsy gal came in 2nd, but broke both front legs.

  she was euthanized immediately.

  As A Former JW, Do You Feel You Should "Apologize" For Past Actions?

  do you believe that you should now apologize for whatever actions you made when you were a witness?.

  do you think that if you were an elder that you should contact those that might've felt oppressed by you and your "theocratic" actions?.

  if you were a zealous preacher, do you now feel you should go back to your former bible students and tell them the error of your ways?.

  well hello all....yes...i'm a newbie.... and yep...i am an inactive witness.

  haven't been to a meeting in a while.

  my entire family are witnesses, actually had a relative that proclaimed to be of the 144000...thats how deep....this is third generation witnesses here in this family.

  Are Believers Truly Humble?

  if you are non religious, do you still feel those with religion show a higher level of humility than others in society?.

  on the face of it, i feel most would answer in the affirmative.. but breaking it down, i find it harder and harder to accept.

  in fact, i'd call it the opposite of humility.

  IMHO, most religious people are arrogant. Their worldview is the only correct one. If you don't believe in JE HEEZ USSS, you are damned. If you do not believe in Allah, you are damned and should be slaughtered. Etcetera, ad infinitum.

  I would much rather be ambivalent toward religion, live in peace, and respect all other points of view.

  How many suicides have there been at bethel over the years ?

  i'm curious, because my brother was up there for 20+ years and he never mentioned anything about it.. then i read on here how there were suicides by people jumping off buildings and such.

  .

  how did they keep that quiet.. links to these stories ?.

  The Organization applies information control at Bethel, just like at the Kingdom Hall. You would be surprised how many elders have no knowledge of the UN affiliation either.

  And yes, I know of one suicide at Bethel of a young man from Indiana. I am sure that there are more.

  well, the elders are coming over tomorrow for a shepherding call with me and my wife.

  i am sure they will discuss my low hours in the field ministry and how i am not doing everything i could be doing.

  for my wife's sake, i will be good and mostly "smile and nod".
