  Is there one scripture you like to show JWs and why ?

  2 corinthians 4:4. the wbts like to use 2 corinthians 4:4 frequently.

  however, they invariably never complete the section of verse 4, which states "lest they see the radiance of the glorious gospel of christ" .. i ask them what does this mean to them personally ?, my motivation is to draw their attention to exactly what is been hidden by the god of this system of things.

  the answer is in verse 6 and 7 "yahweh who said let the light shine out of darkness, has also made the light shine in our hearts to radiate and to make known the glory of god as it shines in the face of christ, however we carry this treasure in vessels of clay, so that this all surpassing power may not be seen as ours, but as gods"!

  i am pleased to announce that candace conti, and her key lawyers rick simons and kelly kraetsch are planning a youtube video to answer any questions that people in our community may have regarding the recent conti v watchtower lawsuit.

  i have offered to coordinate the gathering of these questions, and i thought it might be fun to do it in a "competition" style jwn thread, with the best answers being chosen by kelly, rick and candace to be addressed in the video.. as you can imagine, there are some provisos to this.... this is an active lawsuit, so for obvious legal reasons kelly, rick and candace will have the absolute and final decision as to which questions are answered and how much information is divulged when they are answered.we need the answers in the next 7 days, so the "cut off" for this competition is exactly 7 days from the time this thread goes live on jwn.we kindly request that all questions are asked in a respectful manner without any malicious or offensive intent.

  What principles or personal motives, biblical or otherwise held bky Candice Conti induced her to pursue her case to the final end? She did not settle out of court, accept a gag order, take the money and run.

  Like the old testament account of the trial of an accused woman, she took off her dusty slippers and gave the Watch Tower a hefty slap in their collective face.

  Here is my explanation that I use for my understanding of this text of dead ones being thrown up and people coming out of the tombs to inform others.

  We know that Mathew used many texts from the Hebrew Scriptures to reveal to Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. We know that Jesus and the apostles used the Septuagint that translated the Jewish text from Hebrew into Greek about 250 years before Christ. We know that the Masoretes after JC, endeavored to thwart Mathew’s use of the Hebrew Scriptures to give support that Jesus was the Messiah.

  Reading The Apostolic Bible, Polyglot (ie The Septuagint interlinear from Greek to English) I came across this text of Psalms 68:6 which the interlinear in English reads: “God settles simple people in a house; leading out the prisoners being shackled in courage; in like manner the ones being greatly embittered, dwelling in tombs.”

  The Greek word for “tombs” (#5028) is the same word in the Greek scripture for tombs. Except in some places it uses another word that has be translated as “memorial tombs”

  In the Hebrew interlinear the word translated as “tombs“ in the Septuagint is translated as “dry land” (#6707).

  In the scriptures Jesus healed demon possessed people who were living in the grave yards. It seems among the tombs, the "embittered" ones sought refuge, also people who were about to die sought refuge there. (The average person avoided the dead and graveyards. They would become unclean if they went there.) The earthquake shook them up, revived them to go back into the city and tell people what had happened.

  So at Jesus death, the embittered ones, the ones as good as dead, sprung up with energy and went into the city and told others what had happened.

  The stones ARE crying out, it's happening even today!!

  i wonder if anybody realizes, that this scripture, luke 19:40 but jesus answered, "i tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!".

  everybody has understood this to mean literal stones on the ground crying out, but that is not what it meant.. look what ez 36:26 says, "i will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; i will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.".

  the witnesses are the stones crying out..

  My understanding of the stones crying out is, for what it worth, is this. Jesus was amongst a geat crowd of supporters, cheering for him. It says the authorities were afraid to take Jesus into custody because of their fear of the crowds. Some told Jesus to tell the supporters to cool it. Jesus said that if he told the crowd to stop crying out, then there would be an incident where literal stones would figuratively cry out The opposers would literally stone him to death, like they wanted to do when he first started his ministry. He knew that as long as there was a great crowd of supporters, he would be safe.

  One time a young JW couple came to my door, not knowing my background as a former JW. Finally after a lenghty discussion, I told them I used to be a JW. They asked me, Why did I leave Jehovah's Witnesses? I replied: I didn't leave them, they left me. I still held my belief in the Bible, and endeavored to keep the principles of the Creator and his son. It is the Watchtower that has left the true faith.

  By your generous actions in the paying the mortgage over and beyond the amount due, shows you have not abandonned your beliefs or faith.

  There is a interlinear Septuagint Bible published in 1996, called the Apostolic Polyglot Bible. Translated by Charles Vanderpool. It may be online. The Septuagint was translated from the Hebrew text something like 250 years BC. The Masoretic Jewish text was changed after Jesus Christ to counter the Christian movement. This interlinear has a greek dictionary where one can compare all words translated from Hebrew text and compare the meanings with the Greek in the Greek scriptures, ie the New Testament.
