  Take the advice in Targets post.

  I have a number of Ian Stevenson's books that I have read over the years. This man has done scientific studies at the University of Virginia.

  He has discovered that children from about two to four, when they are able to start to talk remember things that can only be explained by having a life before, or remembering things from the past.

  After four years old, they forget these things and go on in the present life.

  In America, he has not had much success because children here who remember are told to shut up as posts on this thread indicate. Well over half the people in the world, believe that we have all lived before.

  Another book is Beyond the Ashes by Rabbi Yonassan Gershom. It is about children and adults who remember experiences of the Holocaust. There is also and American woman who has written a book about American cases, I have forgotten her name, but will look it up.

  I do not like the word reincarnation, I prefer the word, rebirth. I have had rememberances of events taking place in the past. So has my son. That is what led me to study this subject.

  Is there texts in the Bible that support rebirth? Yes. The word resurrection in the Bible, means a standing up. If any one wants to discuss them with me, send me a pm. I don't think this forum is ready for such a discussion yet, it would only arouse controversy.

  Lern,to/spel;and "punctuate"!!!!!

  maybe i'm tired but........at the risk of seeming overly critical,there have been a number of posts on this forum where the spelling and punctuation have been abysmal.i have no problem with the occasional error but the subjects here tend to be somewhat more complicated and it makes it too much of an effort if i have to keep re-reading things to figure out what the missing word was or where the sentence ends.one academic said it was no big deal as even his professors were poor spellers!well i've got news for you guys, if you don't sharpen up your grammer i'm not even going to try to give you the courtesy of figuring out what you're talking about.

  now,i'm going to have shower and go to bed and i want this thing sorted out by tomorrow.love pete.

  I try to get punctuation and spelling write right. Do you all all of you type in JWD posting box?

  When the post is a short one, I do. But my typing can't keep up with my thoughts. If I stop to correct spelling of a word I am not sure of, I lose my thread of thought.

  I have Google spell check on my tool bar. If I click on it, which I have done a few times, my whole post disappears. I have re-typed whole messages from memory, at times, three times in an effort to get it right. Now I am afraid to leave the message box for any reason at all.

  If I have a long post, then I write it in word, spell check it, copy to notepad, copy it to here, and then go through and highligt and edit in emphasis, color etc. then I hit submit post and then find that the formatting turned out wrong or not the way I wanted it.

  OK, me myself and gramma Mouthy and Bigmouth will just have to live with it.

  for the first time today, i saw the brochure the society publishes to prepare jw parents in dealing with custody issues.

  they have sample questions that a lawyer might ask and sample answers you might give that take the bite out of the question.. one such question is, "do you teach that it is better to die than to take a blood transfusion?".

  the suggested answer is interesting, since the big news recently highlighted how the watchtower has dishonestly suggested that blood transfusions carry more risks than benefits.

  Does no one get the significance of this thread?

  If it has little significance, can't you, the reader, at least post why?

  Are you circling the pastry& sweets table and turning up noses at the meat and potatoes?

  You are not two weeks late, you are right on target and right on the money.

  Two weeks ago, it was mentionned briefly that the Custody booklet should be next on the list.

  But I don't believe it was pointed out how deadly the Custody Booklet damages the WT position on blood transfusion and gives specific concise evidence that their actions is Tort Of Misrepresentation, that leads to death of children and adults.

  OK, where on line can we find a copy of the Custody Booklet?

  Let's keep this rolling.

  They suggest saying, "I do not want myself or my children to die. I want the best medical treatment I can get for my child. Blood transfusions carry many death-dealing side effects such as AIDS. We prefer to accept safer medical alternatives."

  You have pointed out a very powerful argument here.

  The Watchtower proclaims they do not take blood because of their religious belief, that it is forbiddon in the Bible. They use freedom of religion as authorizatin of their belief.

  In the answer they suggest, given above, they definitely state that it is because of secular medical reasons they do not take blood. They say: I want the best medical treatment I can get for my child. If a child has been in an accident and has lost blood to such an extent that no alternative to blood will save her life, they are lying saying they want the best medical treatment. The best medical treatment is a transfusion of blood or essential derivitives that will save her life.

  Blood transfusions carry many death-dealing side effects such as AIDS. We prefer to accept safer medical alternatives."

  The above quote, is secular medical advice, not religious belief, and what it says is a very serious Tort of Misrepresentation of Medical facts.

  You have nailed in a nutshell, with your above discovery from the custody manual, the whole gist of the Church and State essay Jehovah's Witnesses, Blood Transfusions' and the Tort of Misrepresentation, by Kerry Louderback-Wood.

  Your discovery is a keeper, let us make it known.

  i said "all mikes are off except for the stage".

  i have been studying with the jw for just over 3 years.i have always believed in god and the bible.

  the path my life took ended up with me being a single parent of 4 children.. the jws led me down the path of the "truth".

  my grandmother disowned me and i just couldnt understand why.i was told that satan was lurking round every corner trying to get me away from god.
