You must have gotten a mean cop then. In Georgia, if you are 14mph or less over the limit, you get no points so some cops will give you a break and write a lower clocked speed on the ticket. It just happened to me 2 months ago. Got popped coming home from Savannah. I was cruising at about 85 and didn't slow down for a [vacant for the holiday] construction zone. The deputy came out of nowhere. I swear he "beamed down" or something. But he was pretty cool, wrote me up for 84 in a 70 instead of the 85 in a 55 he could have gotten me for. And he came right out and said he was doing so to keep my insurance from going up.

Best Buy Computer Hostage Crisis Continues
Macon, Ga--The Talibestbuy continues to hold at least one personal computer hostage as negotiations again failed today. Talibestbuy officials originally said that the hostage would be released yesterday however as of today, the computer is still being held hostage in an undisclosed location. While the next shipment arrives at their Macon facility, there is no indication at this point whether or not the hostage will be on that truck. Opposition forces within the facility have been working towards resolving the crisis and their initial goal was yesterday or possibly Monday, but experts warn that the situation could last weeks or even months.
Opposition forces are greatly outnumbered even in Macon, and face a hardliner regime dedicated to a fundamentalist salesmanship doctrine that pushes extended warranties and slow service and severely punishes fast customer service.
The customer is working hard to resolve the situation diplomatically. Contacted today at his home, he said that while he is presently using the telephone harsher measures could not be ruled out; including causing a scene at the facility on the upcoming day-after-Thanksgiving. The day-after-Thanksgiving is a traditional holy day for merchants such as the Talibestbuy, and public confrontations at their facilities can be very devastating on that day with so many customers to witness them. Talibestbuy officials had no comment regarding the threat of a strike on that day. Experts warn that with extremists such as the Talibestbuy, the results are very hard to predict but that law enforcement may become involved.
Mr. Ganas would not comment on specifics of his plans for Friday if the hostage is not released, but he did say "it could get ugly" and that he himself would use law enforcement officers as a last resort.
Experts also warn that there may not be just one computer held hostage, but that with such a vast corporation as the Talibestbuy there may be thousands. -

Yeah, just checked out the site. Kinda like Stoops Mfg. Some entrepreneur starts a marketing business designed to profit almost solely from other Witnesses. Makes me sick.

AOL sucks! They had the gall last week to put a hold on my account. They claimed that it was used to send "spam", specifically an email with a commercial hyperlink. Another user reported it and BAM! I'm stuck on the phone for almost an hour. The customer-no-service rep said I probably had a Trojan Horse that stole my password. Ok, so spammers are now using virus attacks to steal passwords in order to send out their emailings.
I pointed out that at least half of the spam I get has @aol.com for the sender, but got the telephone equivalent of a blank stare.
What can you do?
I signed up for Bellsouth's DSL service. My number "qualifies" so the ball is rolling. The sevice will be activated next week, and I will receive my "FastAccess Kit" (the dsl modem and software) somewhere around Dec. 3. I guess that's enough time to give BellSouth to come up with an excuse as to why I can't get DSL but still bill me $49.95/month for a couple of months.
Bellsouth is very odd when it comes to internet access. They have a very good dial-up service. They ought to, since they are the phone company after all and can make sure they get all the best lines and the other providers get the tin cans and strings. They've just about shut down Earthlink in Macon that way. They're trying to run the Competitive Local Exchange Carriers out of town too. A CLEC is one of those "no ID, no credit check" phone providers you see advertise on TV for people who had their phone cut off by the main phone company. Bellsouth is pretty cutthroat with the clec's. So why am I going to give them my money?
What can you do? Get cable modems from Cox Cable? They support SYNDEX, and besides the cable modem thing really sucks. Read up on it, the security is lousy and speed is subject to how many people in your area are online.
When I finally buy a house next year and move out into the country, I'll be telling the phone and cable companies to go to hell. Cellular phone instead of a land line. Satellite TV instead of cable. And satellite internet, yes satellite internet, uploads and downloads from a dish with no tyrannical telco in between. Ok, to be honest, it will be a black market satellite tv deal, but really is there any other way?
If they didn't want just anyone to get it they shouldn't put it out over the airwaves.

Here I sit using this infernal AOL-TV box yet again.
I broke down and bought a real computer at Best Buy a month ago. I don't have it now, though and that is as Paul Harvey says "the rest of the story".
Since a good friend of mine since high school was a technician at Best Buy, I felt comfortable buying the system. I should have seen it coming. The salesman was more interested in selling me the extended warranty that the actual computer. So much so, that he actually adjusted the price of the computer to essentially make the Performance Service Plan or "PSP" free. Once it was a freebie, I said ok and took home my machine. Athlon 1.3 ghz with 512mb of SDRAM, 32mb video card, soundcard that hooks up to my dolby digital home theatre receiver, and other goodies. Oh and Windows XP.
First problem: On the 4th day, XP crashed and was unrecoverable. They offered to exchange the pc for a new one, but it would cost me since it was an "open box" item. I raised enough hell and they finally wiped the hard drive and installed Windows 98. Initially that was going to be free, but once the install was underway they told me I would have to pay for the software. With my pc held hostage, I had no choice.
Next problem: Last Sunday the hard drive began to die. I took it in for service the next day, and received the diagnosis that the hard drive needed replacement. Guess what? In spite of the fact that they have shelves lined with hard drives and 2 very good technicians at the store, they don't do it there. It had to be shipped to the "service center" in Atlanta.
I was promised that I would have the pc back today, but -you guessed it- no. The attitude-laden customer-no-service girl told me "We don't know when it will be ready, so just wait and we'll call you."
The moral of the story my friends is pretty clear. When you are shopping for a new pc, the first time a salesman tries to push any "extended warranty" on you, turn around and walk out without a word. In fact, avoid any big chain store. Go to a local business. I was told I had a 3-year IN HOME service plan. All that meant was that I would use the phone IN my HOME to call and be told to bring it in.
Buy from the local guy who builds them in his house. I've gone that way before. He'll fix it on the spot, and if not then he will have the parts there within a day or two and always will stick to the time he promises. The local guy will never have some minimum-wage ignoramus intercept your calls and blow you off.
Most of all, AVOID BEST BUY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
Don't even buy software and movies there. Don't give them your money!

JW Youth- Harshest Rules Ever
by metatron inwitness parents wring their hands, cry in their pillows and mumble.
remarks about satan's influence "in these last days.".
they are told that the world is getting worse and worse.. they are told that temptations are no different than they've ever been.. wrong!

Metatron, the harsh rules extend so much further than just sexuality.
There is a rule for every detail of a young person's life that says "no". It's little wonder that so many of the young people in the Empire are living double lives today. I noticed one such case just the other day. A witness girl I have known since she was born brought her car in for servicing. I went into the office to say hello to her. Ok, and to get a better look, damn i felt guilty. Not only was she not wearing a bra, she was wearing NIPPLE RINGS!!! My brother also told me "she can't keep her legs together". Knowing how strict her dad is, it's little wonder she went wild.

DA'd myself today
by Pierced Angel inwell, i did it.. it's official and i'm relieved.. the elders wanted to try talking to me once again, but after awhile it was obvious that they were only interested in changing my thoughts not answering any questions.
so, i just calmly asked if i could disassociate myself.
they acted stunned and they got tears in their eyes, but i told them that i had already grieved and was ready to move on with life.

Congratulations, Angel! I hope every day for you is better than the one before!

btw, I turned 30 Thursday Nov. 1.
I finally broke down and went to Lenscrafters today. Did the exam and selected Transitions lenses. When they made the glasses and I tried them on it was awful! I actually started to get a headache. Turns out they copied the prescription wrong, did a positive instead of a negative for the left lens. So they made another set. This time, the tech cracked one of the lenses and I had to wait yet another hour. And Lenscrafters seems to have a different idea of what an hour is. This time, they got it right. First time I have ever worn glasses and I'm very happy. To make it even better, the manager apologized for the inconvenience and refunded my money. So I got a 300 dollar pair of glasses for FREE!!!! -

Sunday school for the kids.
Playground out back for the kids.
Ashtrays outside.
After the Sunday meeting, have a big picnic. I'll have my grill going.
Come as you are. If you want to wear a nice suit or dress, fine. Those who can't or don't want to, fine. Just be there because that is what is important.
