  Worldy Compassion & Generosity

  last friday, one of our employees' home burned to the ground, killing all 3 of his children.

  i began the process of taking up a collection, buying the card, etc.

  all of us were shocked to the core for this man's tragedy and suffering.

  I've seen dubs take clothing donations for some disaster and then the donated clothes go into a storage room at the KH and rot.

  Meanwhile I've seen churches help out total strangers. Some very close friends of mine fell on bad times and were very new members of a local church. That church gave them so much food that they turned around and donated some back to the food bank and found others in need to give to. That church even delivered a brand new stove to them when the rental company repo'd the one they couldn't afford payments on.

  When our hall got a telephone for the first time, we would get calls from people in destitute financial problems asking for charitable assistance making rent or getting food. The instructions were to simply tell them no.

  Xena, RubyTuesday, and Nilfun.....I think I just fell in love.

  By the way, the thought of kicking a cat or any other pet would never even speculate about the merest possibility of crossing my mind. Dogs and cats know when you're upset before you even walk in the door and go out of their way to make you feel better. Ok not always cats because they have bad days too, in that case you comfort each other.

  Now if the thread's question were reversed....I've already learned that lesson. Don't ask. Just get my ass in the kitchen, get her a beer, and start dinner. Then once the kids are in bed, well you know what happens then. Just be careful not to put the cuffs on too tight.

  Just what the hell is wrong with this guy's nose? For that matter, what the hell is the deal with the whole face? Is he trying to not look like a human anymore? Well it's working because he's damn sure not a man. And who's the dumb bitch who opened her legs for this jackass in the first place? She ought to have her ass whupped! He's a fu**ing mental case child molester and if anyone needs to be held over the ledge of a building (and dropped head-first) it's him not his spawn.

  I can only hope that somehow his kids get taken away, put into a nice home with a normal family, and protected by secrecy so they can have normal lives. Honestly I would rejoice at the sight of another celebrity assassain rising up and blowing The NAMBLA Poster Boy into little pieces with a big gun, something along the lines of a Desert Eagle .50 Magnum loaded with hollow points and emptying at least two clips into Jacko. I'd even donate money to the defense fund. Hell, I'd donate the gun and bullets.

  What really makes me want to puke is seeing how much people love this asshole. Parents who would kill a pervert who molested their own kids let their kids listen to him, watch him on MTV, and go buy his CD's. His music sounds like sh*t to me, all I can think of when I hear it is him and a little boy together....I don't even like his old stuff with the Jackson 5 anymore.

  I'd better start because I can feel my temper rising.

  Danger when pumping gas

  i saw this on a news show last night and i had never heard anything about it before.

  since i'm up till all hours of the night, i don't know if it was a prime time news show or late night so i can't tell you the name of the program.. it seems that there is a danger when pumping gas when folks return to sit inside their vehicle etc., they may pick up static electricity and then when going back to the nozzle, a spark from that static electricity can cause an explosion.

  rubbing your feet on the carpeted mats or sliding across the seat to get into the glove compartment can all pick up static and then, if the gas nozzle is the next thing you touch, it could cause an explosion.

  That's why there's signs on the gas pumps that tell you not to leave your vehicle unattended while pumping gas.

  Duh!

  You're safer smoking while pumping gas.

  Try to imagine listening to people yell and scream at you for six hours a day

  Funny you should mention that, Gil. One called Saturday evening while I was trying to watch a movie. I didn't think they were supposed to call on weekends. I cut the poor sap off and yelled "DO YOU KNOW WHAT FU**ING DAY IT IS AND WHAT FU**ING TIME IT IS? DON'T EVER CALL ME ON A FU**ING WEEKEND....." and went on from there dropping a few more F-bombs and calling him a few choice names until he hung up on me.

  Worst job.....

  Once when I was really down and out, living at a friend's apartment, sleeping in his utility closet, riding an old motorcycle to work in the cold of winter, I worked at a convenience store. Night shift. Minimum wage, locked into 40 hours or less a week. The district manager really had it in for me too. She'd park her minivan in the pecan orchard across the road and watch me with binoculars to make sure I worked all night. I got smart to that real quick. My cousin would come by every night to visit and hang out and knew to look for her. If Gail was on watch, he'd just come in and buy a coke and leave. Then I'd bust my ass mopping, stocking, washing windows, the store'd be sparkling. When I knew she was getting really tired of sitting there I'd go to the window and wave at her. A couple of times I had my cousin call the cops to report her surveillance as a "suspicious vehicle" and that was always good for a few laughs cause the cops knew me and looked out for me and they all thought she was a bitch too. She always knew I knew she was out there but never figured out how. Finally she framed me for theft and fired me. Now I make more money (lots!) than she does so it's even more funny.

  some subjects seem to re-appear almost on a daily basis.

  noticeable by it's absense has been the subject of aids.

  i think possibly this doesn't get discussed here becuase it is one of the few hot topics which goes in favour of the witnesses.

  Aids scares the hell out of me Ballistic.

  The people who know they have it and go out and deliberately infect others.

  The thought that it could mutate into a form that is able to be transmitted by mosquitos or by simple nonsexual physical contact. Or worse, that it could become an airborne virus.

  And what is the next deadly virus out there waiting to suprise us?

  as terrible as 9/11 really was , if it was london that dusty bin laden would have hit , there is no way that bush would be side by side with blair in a 'war on terrorism' .

  Iron Eagle, you do raise a good point when you bring up the IRA. And I'll do my best to refute it.

  Why do you think we don't have an IRA here in the U.S.? Because when someone over here aspires to be a terrorist and blow something up they get whacked.

  But you do bring up an interesting thought. The U.K. is a very strong ally of America and we owe you big time for your support. If the U.S. is going to engage in any anti-terrorism action then the IRA needs to be at the top of the list.

  But we've got bigger fish to fry right now. The Islamic fundies are a major threat to us. They are also a major threat to you, even though you don't see it that way. Maybe a Concorde flying into Buckingham Palace would change that and that may be what it comes to if you don't support "our" war on terror. Before 9/11 most of us Americans would have called that day's events the stuff of Tom Clancy fiction and would have said that it would never happen here. You know better than we do that a bomb can go off anywhere so for you to believe that Bin Laden and other Muslim terrorists aren't a threat to you is foolishness.

  Final Fantasy anyone?

  i bought my nephews a playstation 2 for xmas.

  i bought it a little early so i could play with it myself first and i got final fantasy x. pretty cool game.

  the final fantasy games are like dungeons and dragons meet anime.. anyone else played it or the other ff games?.

  Now you've got me wanting to buy my own PS2 so I can get the rest of the series. I'm still early on in FFX, where they fight Sin on the cliff.
