It's always good to keep the JW's up on current events. Excellent public service.

My Secret Email Campaign -or- "Dozens Now Living will Now Know"
by joe_from_kokomo inwell, after our baptismal nullification letter, most of the witnesses snub us when we bump into them.
saw a snooty sister from my own book study, and she pretended i was the invisible man.. so, i decided to do a "maverick" and have launched a top secret email campaign to help raise the news iq of my former witness friends and family.. i have created a dummy email account at a major portal and i am bccing all my old witness friends and relatives (mostly relatives) hyperlinks to the juicy news articles on jws and the un, jws and child abuse, etc.
i put a simple subject line and a simple one line "read this article" followed by a hyperlink to the newspaper article.. it has been very effective.

In DOUBT THROW It OUT
by BERNARD inits been awhile since i've posted, i thought i'll drop in and say hello too all the newbies, but i've been reading the posts ocassionally and they have been encouraging to see people take the courage to change from the jw mindset and try too move on with there life.
for those of you who don't know me i disassociated myself from the wt in june of 1999 with a big smile, have not looked back since.
my wife was still going at the time with my two kids, this weekend was her convention to my surprise, she did go nor has she attended any meetings in the past six months, since we moved away from my loving mother in law who is still a devout jw, that just bring tears to my eyes, tears of joy cause she can't speak to me, that's a plus, lol.

What If Jehovah's Witnesses Are Right?
by shamus inthe "what if" thing comes to mind... no matter how much i strongly believe that they are not, what if armageddon happened tomorrow and they were correct?
would you have any sorrow for being wrong???.
i, personally would not.

If they're right then I guess I would be part of that generation that failed to mend its ways.
I'd finally get to take a nice long nap and wouldn't burn.

Retractions in the Watchtower
by Elsewhere in.
every magazine, newspaper or other periodical i have ever read would from time to time print a retraction to correct mistakes in past articles.
any reputable publishing house does this.. has anyone ever seen a retraction printed in the watchtower, awake, or any other wts publication?.

When I asked a Bethelite if the WT ever said they were wrong in print he told me they used "clarification" because it was a much stronger word.

Serious sin would have to be dealt with once it became known or in the case of an inactive person when they sought to return to the congregation.

This information is presented continually. I've never seen it make one difference in the way "the friends" behaved. Another reason why it's not the "truth."

Rutherford - Watchtower Rewriting History Again?
by Stephanus infrom an article in the july 8 awake!
by a "ken payne", entitled i tried to serve two masters:.
what interested me was phrasing of the footnote - that instead of being autocratic president of the tower, judge joe merely "took the lead"!

...took the lead among Jehovah's Witnesses. Who would they say takes the lead among them today?

Ernest Ricketts ... DISFELLOWSHIPPED
by RR infor those of you who know ... or know of ernie ricketts, he was disfellowshipped a weerk ago, a long time prominent jehovah's witness, who represented the watchtower in jersey city, he was the care taker of the stanley theater.
there are a few post in the archivs that make mention of him.
i knew him personally, from what i was able to gather, the society wanted to get rid of him, apparently as someone told me "he was too black for the society," so they found a 17 year old "sin" and used that to get rid of him.

That caretaker job is a flunky job they could have just moved him out. Why DF?

brown paper on the mirrors at assembly
by freein89 inthis happened in the mid 80's at a circuit assembly in wisconsin.
the "brothers" decided they had the solution to the long lines for the ladies room.
they went in there and covered the mirrors with brown paper.

At the assemblies I attended the mens rooms were given to the sisters. In some places there was one or two left for the males and there would be lines (even at the sinks).
