man faces charges after sex assault at hospital
brandon - a 42 year-old jehovah's witness elder has been charged after a senior citizen complained she was assaulted by a man pretending to be a doctor at a brandon hospital.
Gordon Edward Watson has been charged with sexual assault and personation. The 42-year-old Jehovah's Witness elder is believed to have been at the hospital on church business.
Hopefully he wasn't there to see another patient (victim). This needs to be checked.

I am not D/F but this weekend had a conversation with someone who after I told them I don't attend any meetings asked: "So you disassociated yourself from the cong. or is it something else?" I simply answered no. What this org. puts into the minds of its members is sickening.
ok........has anybody been hearing rumors about new light on the faithful and discreet slave teaching?
i recently talked to one of my ex-bethel buddies and he said that an adjustment has been in the works for awhile now and that the new light for the fds will be that they will receive their appointment before the great tribulation and that they didn't receive it at 1918-19 as previously taught.
their works (global preaching work, worldwide growth, etc) up until the point of the great tribulation will show that they have been faithful and discreet in caring for the lord's interests and worthy of "official" appointment before the end comes.
This would be an abandonment of the parousia in 1914. What's next blood transfusions OK'd? After that WT study I can see the "friends" saying we must be really close now.

The WT makes a living on being ambiguous. The use of phrases "suggested dates" and "appeared to be" is truly sickening. By the way are they going to put out WT CD' s so we can read what also appeared in the 1883 and 1896 WT's? Funny how selective quotes are so useful.

This is probably instigated by the local Church. What they don't realize is they are reinforcing the idea of persecution and further imbeding the idea in the attender's minds that they are being persecuted for being "God's people."
just wanted to share with you the results of our monthly get together here in vancouver, b.c.
five of us showed up which was down from last month, but the reasons for those unable to make it today were family responsibilities and such, so the desire to meet is still strong.
we had a great time yakking and laughing and just generally having a marvelous time.
There were 6 in attendance at the NYC Meetup. Since it was scheduled to be at a Krispy Kreme donut shop, we met outside and then headed elsewhere. It's usually the same people every month so we don't worry about "moles."
from what i've noticed lately, the wts seems to be explaining everything away with a new approach; that of dumbing everything down to just a couple of key points in their everchanging, contradictory, edicts and doctrine.
they seem to be avoiding 'deeper' scriptural interpretations that invariably get them into trouble with people who actually don't take everything the fds say as absolute truth, and instead are feeding the rank and file and the "doubters" that dare question the changing doctrine, with a couple of what they feel are key "truths".. 1) who else is using god's name today?
2) who else are doing "god's work" of preaching the good news of the kingdom?.
Don't forget the TMS where someone just gets up and reads from the Bible or WT. Part of the simplification process?

They've recently given the brothers a second Saturday a month off with the instructions that it be spent with the local cong. in FS.
i was thinking about some of the old jw urban legends that we grew up with and believed in as jws.
most of the ones i remember revolved around stories about demons, and jws being "attacked" when they would do something wrong.
some of these legends scared the crap outta me when i was little.
When the movie "The Exocist" was first released we were told that some Witnesses who went to see it tried to leave but were unable to get up from their seats somehow held down by some force until the movie ended.
