i posted earlier in the summer about some "racist" witnesses who told me that i could not recieve the watchtower & awake magazines, or attend the kingdom hall, because i was black & blacks were not able to understand the bible, "it was not for them".. i wrote a letter to the watchtower society & got a response!.

i moved out of that immediate area, a couple of towns(about 40 minutes away).

i contacted the watchtower society after moving here to have someone bring me the watchtower & awake.

i have read through various posts where it has been said that some feel that jws are not the organisation or people of god.

therefore, has anyone after leaving the jws joined another religion?

I'm a Neutral Jehovah's Witness

hi ya all!

Just want to express great forum and great advice!

I was born in the truth, but decided to not go to the meetings anymore when i was 16 after a year of trying to tell my father i did not want to study or attend the meetings finally he accepted that i would not change my mind and when the rest of my family would go to the meetings or out witnessing i would stay home. I felt such a huge relief when i stopped going that i felt that i had made the best choice for me even if that meant hurting my father.

My reasons for leaving was the pure hypocrisy that was going on at that time in my congregation starting from the brothers and sisters and ending with those higher up, 8 years on, i have realised that the decision i made to leave was the best one as, at that time and till this day, i still believe in following Jehovahs word and not of men this is why after all I try my hardest to remain close to Jehovah and follow his word.

My advice is be guided by your own conscience to what is right and use what you have learnt about god to guide your way,trust in Jehovah .

Palm reading and what not

first a bit of background about this poster... married, 2kids, 12 year old and 15 month old, wife and i inactive for about 4 years and spotty at meetings at best for various reasons.i've had doubts ever since 95 and the generation thing, and my wife, well she's always had some resentment from the truf being drilled into her when she was growing up.

however i put off deciding what to do about the future of my own spirituality (and my family's) till recently when i got tired of feeling guilty about not following an outline for the only way to be a good person.

also my wifey wanted to know what the hell we were doing so she wouldn't feel like a fence sitter.

Ive been to a few tarot readers in the past 1 of them predicted for me i left thinking that nothing was to come of it until i found out a month later that the information she had given me was true the person i had asked about was living halfway across the world! Not only that she revealed a secret which i was keeping (which i didnt want my mum to know about) and yep! my mum was sitting next to me when she said it!

All in all though its a bit of light entertainment, always makes me giggle!
