Goldminer
i'm new to these boards.
i'll introduce myself.. i was raised a jw, baptized at 13, pioneer at 15, married at 18, divorced at 21, disfellowshipped and pregnant at 22, and here i am.
i gave birth to a beautiful baby boy about five months ago, and i've never been happier, but that has required a lot of sacrifice and hurt.

have any of you ever feel abandoned by "friends" because you dont associate (congregate) with them anymore?
there is a couple of 'friends' that i haven't talked to for about a year, (because i dont go to the meetings).
i dont have anything against them or the congregation.
Yeah,it's too bad they don't tell us right from the get-go that any friendships we make will be conditional. The attitude is the same here and it won't make me go back, you're my friend or you're not,it's as simple as that.If someone's friendship with me is based on me being a slave of the wtbts then it's not much of a friendship anyways.

Welcome Aphina!
the following quote is from a book on politics in business ("it's all politics" by kathleen reardon, ph.d pg.
see if it sounds familiar.. "i was invited to advise a financial institution as it recovered from revelations of corruption.

i don't know what to answer to my own question.... i guess that i still believe in a paradise earth where humans could live forever.
I'm right there with Kwin and Kid-A
my journey to find a religion i could believe in wholeheartedly started as a young adult.
i was raised as a catholic but couldn't say for certain that i believed all that i was taught..
i had a mother who was a catholic and a father who was a divorced protestant.
Welcome Andrea! very interesting story.I often wonder how many jw's are living a similar story right now,how many of them do I know, and they just don't have the courage to break free.I'm happy for you that you did and hope you find the happiness you're seeking.

got this email from my mother the other day... this is just the "witness" part... i sent my brother a letter the other day after we had a big fight you can read that here.... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/98316/1.ashx.
just fyi, no need to reply because i know it will not make a difference to you but last night at the study ******** got so choked up about you that he could not finish for crying.
you don't realize how much he loves you.
Some of my family members started shunning me when I started to miss meetings.I guess that was their way of "encouraging one another".I found this to be cult mentality, shunning till you get back in line and the we'll accept you in our circle again. What a crock...uh,geez,where is that in the bible again?

the thread about this one, had k.i.s.s in the title.

1.Do we approach God through Christ(Jn 14:6)or through his organization?
2.if the "faithful and discreet slave" was put in place in 33 C.E. to disperse the "proper food at the proper time" ,thrn who,or where was the "faithful and discreet slave" from 100 C.E. until 1874 C.E. ?
3.Since history is not silent on religious developments, why is it nothing can be found that fits the WTS' description of an entity or organization feeding spiritual food to all christians earthwide?
4.If Charles taze Russell was seeking the "truth",why didn't he seek out or approach the "faithful and discreet slave" ?
5.a)Why did the WTS once teach as "truth" that 1874 was the date for Christ's return?
b)Did Jehovah want his people to believe one thing as "truth" for X number of years before he shed light on a new "truth" ?
c)If you are not teaching a truth are you teaching a lie? WT 91 12/1 p.7
6.If Jesus returned in 1914,why do we still celebrate the memorial? 1 Cor 11:26
7.Why do we offer our prayers in Jesus" mane if he is mediator only for the anointed?(144000) approx.8500 people on earth today.
8.Why does secular history not agree with 607 B.C.E. as the year of Jerusalem's destruction?

11.Why did the WTS associate itself with the United Nations as a non-governmental organization? Would this be considered a compromise of integrity?
12.If we need the "faithful and discreet slave" to understand the bible, was the Catholic church doing its members a favor when it prohibited them from reading the bible?
13.Why do we attend assemblies in a Catholic school? Would this be financially supporting false religion?
14.If Jesus began ruling in 1914,does that mean there is only 909 years left in his 1000 year rule?
15.Since the WT was wrong in the past about many of its teachings and the light continues to get brighter, how do we know that the current teachings are correct and won't change?
16.Why is it if someone has doubts or changes his mind about a teaching, he is considered "weak"; if he speaks up about it,he could be labeled an "apostate" and disfellowshipped, but when the WTS changes their mind about something it's simply called a "refinement" or "new light"?
Well there you have it,it's 31 questions not 32,sorry.I handed these over on august 24th and I will wait patiently for answers. As many of you have already said,I am wasting my time and that is how I feel about it.I'm just hoping that maybe something will open my wife's eyes and that we can move on together without the WT.
