Should JWs be allowed to adopt children?http://jehovahs-witness.adoption.co
by Brummie inif they were unable to produce their own?.
what would be you're response to that question?.
consider that they are just human and have the same paternal instincts as most people do, the desire to be a mom & dad, to hold a lil bundle of joy, or to nurse and care for a child etc their doctrine and faith is one of honesty and trust and will install in a child the values of keeping the law, avoiding such things as drug abuse, theft and harming others.. .

Just got back from the 2004-2005 circuit assembly here are a few thoughts.
by PaNiCAtTaCk inupon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.
they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.
i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.

well now I know why the attendance at our circuit assemblies has gone from 700+ to about 470.Everybody comes here to get the info so they don't have to go and waste a week-end listening to the same old shit wrapped up in a different package.

by BrendaCloutier inaccording to jeff foxworthy ... you might be from the pacific northwest if:
1. you know the state flower (mildew) .
2. you feel guilty throwing aluminum cans or paper in the trash.

Were You On The Same Wave Length As The Others In The Hall???
by minimus incan you get in trouble for playing chess, having a very large gathering, going to a pg13 movie, etc.??????
so many answers amounted to this----as the answer-----"you just know better, that's all".
"mature ones" just "knew" without asking whether something was right or wrong, doable or not.

I remember how I'd feel guilty when I worked overtime at work because it was always put down at meetings. Then in time i noticed more than a few elders worked overtime, even on sundays and meeting nights.I guess cause they were getting their "time" it was more justifiable,I knew it was just hypocrisy. After that I would purposely sign up for overtime on Sundays. No more guilt!

Did You Ever Enjoy Going To Assemblies and Conventions??
by minimus inevery january, they read the letter as to where you'll be "assigned" for the convention and then the our kingdom ministry will detail all the do's and don'ts to remember.
was going to these things ever enjoyable to you?
-
Goldminer
just a bigger canvas to display their hypocrisy.but yes,I used to enjoy them at first then I got to see that jw's aren't any different than anybody else who would use these facilities.

I refused a shepherding visit !
by phil78 inwell, it had to happen.
my first opportunity to show my new colours.
had a phone call today from the elder who takes our bookstudy.
-

I refused a sheperding call once also.I even did it right in the KH,the look on the elder's face was priceless but I was sticking to my guns.Since then the odd CO has come to try to "encourage" us and that's it,we've never had another sheperding call from the local elders.
Besides, they count their time when they do those calls,so what is the real intent to it?

First ever posting
by ddean3673 inok, i've been staring at post after post for hours, done weeks of digging on the web, without speaking to a soul.
i figure everyone had to start somewhere, so i just decided to throw it out.. i only recently came out of my "lockdown" phase (where you don't even speak about your feelings about "the truth") and have just started looking around.
i know you guys can see my profile, etc, but i had to post this and just ask for some direction.

Welcome ddean from northern ontario,canada.
Very interesting story, you can post a longer version on freeminds.org which I noticed has already been posted,as well someone has also recommended reading crisis of conscience.
As for myself ddean,I'm still somewhat attached to the jw's because of my wife but I only attend a meeting every 3 to four months and the odd assembly.I don't claim to be a jw and I encourage my wife to make friends outside the organization since she's lost most of her jw friends to disfelloshippings,disasociations,hypocrisy...etc.
Hope you'll stick around and enjoy the different posts and personalities here,it can be very entertaining at times.
