  before my dad went into surgery he asked that i contact the people on this board and let them know how much it ment to him much it ment to him over the past month or so to be able to talk with all of you.. this is one of the few things in his life he could still enjoy.dad wanted to especially thank craig (ona ) for accepting him and apologies for anything he said that might have offended you.. my father was in so much pain over the past seven years ,god must have thought it was time,dad passed a few houres after surgery.. dad asked not to have a service and will be cremated than placed in an urn ( as he said "so he can keep an eye on mom" ) we all loved him deeply and he will be missed.

  i will leave the company email should anyone want to,i will print them out for mom and the family to read.. again thanks to all, our love is with each and every one of you.. matthew mc cune [email protected]

  Losing their best--Getting rid of good elders

  in january of this year, a prominent elder resigned because he was criticized for continuing to talk to an inactive couple, who had been very close friends.

  this couple are being gossiped about, as being apostates, although no action has been taken, and no announcement.

  he didn't like the scrutiny on himself and his wife, and thought they were wrong to talk to him about this issue, so he resigned.

  Fine VeniceIT. I think, though, you may be confusing me with another poster with a similar screen name. I think that name was berea or something similar.

  A couple months back I was being blasted for posting one thing and then wanting to know why I was questioning why I was being jumped on for the post. Never did get it across that there were two different people posting.

  If the congregation as a whole looks at this former elder as still being an older man in a biblical sense, then the BOE, and sometimes the Society, will look at him as being a dangerous man in the congregation. This will be especially so if he is doing something that is frowned upon. A minor matter will become a major matter and will then will result in magnified reactions that would normally be overlooked if done by someone that was always "just a publisher."

  Shunning Rules Changed Again

  sometime ago the faq at jw-media stated that if one "simply ceases to be involved, they are not shunned.

  " ... now, the wording has changed to allow a broader position, one that could include even many more former jws, and "maybe" become the basis whereby they could argue that they are not apostate: do you shun former members?

  those who simply leave the faith are not shunned.

  Here is how the "Society" works things.

  1. Puts out hard line in magizine.

  2. Finds out that there is grumbling, therefore, sheds new light that explains that what was said was misunderstood. "Society" kind, load light and loving. Shouldn't grumble against those appointed by Jehovah - remember Korah, Moses wife, blah, blah.

  3. Magazine articles and convention parts on how kind, loving, GB (Society) is. Break arm beating self on back.

  4. Send letter to Body Of Elders (BOE) that what was in latest magazine articles (Item 3) wasn't correctly understood by BOE, refer to earlier mags (Item 1) on hard line. Evidently "Society" was misunderstood by BOE, new light is shed on hard line.

  5. Verbal instructions passed on by CO and DO. Evidently. First mags, second mags, conventions parts, letters to BOE were all misunderstood by local BOE's. Harder stance needs to be taken by local BOE with the congregation, YOU GUYS ARE TOO LENIENT! Call the "Society" if you don't beleive this verbal instruction.

  6. Sure enough, local BOE misunderstood and much new light is shining forth on how to handle problems.

  7. Local BOE takes harder stance, disfellowships following mag .. . . no . . uh . . . convention . .. uh . . mag . . uh . . . letter . .. verbal.... uh . . . yes light.

  8. Grumbling from congregations.

  9. JESUS! Those local BOE's. Mag with new light - "Society" is so kind . . . new light . . . load light and loving . . . everyone misunderstood . . . remember Korah . . . blah, blah, blah . . .

  we read of recent events, 5 jw children killed in a car accident, jw's caught and beheaded and be-tongued (and not necessarily in that order) in the phillipines, a busload of witnesses burnt to death in spain on the way to the district convention (some years back).

  and so on and so on..... yet the wt and bible too tell us "have no fear because jehovah and his myriads of angels are watching over us and will protect us.".

  well, they do a pretty crappy job at it!

  I mentioned the fact that one missionary was killed a couple months earlier in the Philippines than was the two JW brothers. That was brushed off as nothing just happens all the time. But, when it happened to JWs RAISE YOUR HEADS HIGH, THE TIME IS NEAR PERSECUTION IS UPON US

  , GET OUT IN SERVICE MORE TO SHOW LOYALITY TO JEHOVAH (SOCIETY) !!! KNOCK TILL YOUR KNUCKELS BLEED!!!

  Bethel Has Known of Sexual Abuse For Years

  bill bowen has acurately brought out that bethel has known for years about the large numbers of sexual abuse survivors among the r&f.

  the awake articles that appeared on sexual abuse were originally planed to be a series, if memory serves me right only two were printed.

  bethel was flooded with mail with gratitude for the info and requests for more specific info.

  Leo Greenlees was transferred; it was RUMORED

  , due to ALLEGED homosexuality. In fact, all of what you will find on Greenlees is alleged acts and unverified rumor. I am not saying that he was not homosexual, just that there is no proof or facts.

  I also noticed that the "knew him personally" witness accounts had Greenlees ousted from Bethel and sent to New Orleans and another to San Diego.   Nancee you are very quick to throw out "facts" without verifying them. I dont know what your "program" is, but please refrain from throwing out unfounded comments as facts.

  My darn dog died

  i've had this cowdog for nearly 11 years now.

  today she went out in the sun and got heatstroke and just didn't recover.

  i gave her cpr and brought her back twice but she was too far gone.

  My wife and I have had cats that we loved and have lost. I still get misty eyed over two that were very special to me, vehicles hit each of them, this happened about 4 months apart. It was as though we had lost family members. We now have four cats that we enjoy and care for deeply, however, the pain of losing the others is still there.

  My thoughts are with you over the loss of your friend and family member.
