  heres a story of what happened to me at a district convention this year.. an unbaptised publisher and i travelled to wolverhampton district convention in england.

  this wasnt our district but id been on holiday and had missed my own district convention (how unspiritual of me).

  so me and this friend decided to go to this convention and was also hoping to meet a friend there.. on the saturday morning we were delayed in traffic and we eventually arrived at 11.30am, paid our 3 for parking (i wonder if they had the use of car parks for free?

  The security department identified by the dot on the badge has been around for years. Most of the brothers thought they were big stuff - secret agents for Jehovah. I always made sure to point out the dot to everyone and make a big deal out of it, you should have seen the red faces it got.

  i had someone from this site (who i won't name) who sent me two e-mails.

  this person told me that they read the post where i mentioned that i have had a rough time since i got to las vegas.

  where is all the secret letters and private info?

  just wondering if there is a lull in the correspondence of the society to the body of elders?

  or have we lost some of our contacts on this board?

  it seems a few months ago there would always be a new boe letter posted every few weeks.

  There have been times when the Society didn't put out any letters to the BOE for extended periods. Probably just means it is time to regroup and do damage control. That's what I would do right now to put a clamp on everything if I wanted to keep control on my comfortable worldly corporate position. . . especially if Jehovah wasn't on my side. As you have seen, there are too many leaks from the field BOE's. It wouldn't suprise me for the powers at Bethel to start holding the good info tighter to themselves and let less out to the field elders.

  Why are you looking forward to 2005?

  anyone heard anyting of 2005?

  i've spoken to some witnesses here, who are really worried about 2005. they say it was pretty obvious at the last convention, that the world may end in 2005. because of 1975 and the fact that jesus was 30 years old, the last time he preached on earth... .

  what have i missed?

  I am looking forward to 2005 as a time to drink lifes waters free. A time free of burden, no toil without benefit. Yes, a glorious time without pain, leaping like a stag, no tears, crying, YES. . . MY CAR WILL BE PAID OFF!!

  Elder update--good elders

  the former elder i posted about last week, (see this page http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=36893&site=3) has been doing research in the elder book, which he still has, and wt's apparently trying to understand why the elders took away his privileges because he allowed his wife to associate with inactive witnesses, rumored to be apostates.

  he, himself, is always very kind to them, and welcomes the wife to their home when she comes by.

  his wife found a stack of papers on his desk, and showed them to me, where he had highlighted and underlined, and added stars to many segments of the printed materials.

  I heard one elder recently make a comment to the effect that if you miss meetings you are going against what Jehovah's spirit directed organization is saying which means you are going against what Jehovah is directing which means that you are apostate. Let me see now . . . miss meetings = go against organization direction = go against Jehovah = apostate. Yep, that was it. Just wanted to make sure I got the flow of reasoning right.

  Don't know if he came up with that on his own or if he got it from someone else. Maybe the Borg boys will hear it here and put it in the mags. You heard it here first. . . new light!

  Very Bad News Re: Post Yesterday

  i'm not sure how to put this news gently to the community here, but regarding my post yesterday regarding chantelle.. thankyou for all of your kind messages and warmth displayed on your parts.. chantelle was only 16 when disfellowshipped.

  only 18 years old with her whole life in front of her.

  she took her own life this morning at 0400hrs.. i am so sorry not to have been in a better position to get your letters to her in time.. take care all of you & kindest regards.

  I just read your post from yesterday. I am not able to keep up with the forum on a regular basis, kind of hit and miss.

  The burning of the pictures was sick and depraved. Although this is beside the point, what would have happened if the girl was reinstated? Too bad . . . the pictures are gone. That was NOT a loving and Christian thing to do - burning the pictures, disowning the girl, throwing her away as though she were unwanted garbage.

  Sick, twisted, and unloving reasoning blamed on God! The Bible condems that thinking.

  My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved . . . yes, even to her parents. May the true peace of God be with everyone.

  Appropriately, Luke presents the parable of the "mustard grain" as a follow-up to Jesus denunciation of the apostate religionists of his day. And as if to emphasize the point, both Matthew and Luke next portray Jesus as giving the parable of the "leaven." (Matthew 13:32, 33; Luke 13:10-21) When used figuratively in the Bible, leaven always has an unfavorable connotation, as when Jesus warned his disciples to "watch out for the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees," and when the apostle Paul counseled Christians to clear away the "leaven of badness and wickedness."Matthew 16:6, 11, 12; 1 Corinthians 5:6-8; Galatians 5:7-9.
