I found out that the WTS was not the truth when I was falsely accused and slandered by three other Elders. One in my congregation and two in another. When I presented the evidence of slander and lies, I was accused of trying to "Straighten out the Organization". Everything was covered up, I was accused of going against the Society - like Kora against Moses, and the slanderers were given more responsibility.
LIARS ... every one of them.

Where were you when the realization hit, that the WTS was not in the truth?
by whyizit ini was listening to a testimonial by valerie acuff and she said that she was sitting in an assembly, looking around at the crowd and thinking to herself, "this is your family, these are your people.".
she said at that moment she heard a voice inside say, "these are not your people, this is not your family, get up and leave now, and don't ever go back.
" so she took her two children at that very moment and left, and she never went back.

Why don't Dub families have pets?
by MinisterAmos inout of a dozen or so dub families that live near me i can only think of one with a dog.
at mt ex-congo, i only knew of two families with pets, dogs/cats.
the non-dub pet owning percentage around me is near 100%.

Don't know what you are really trying to get at. Almost every family I knew in the congregation had pets, usually more than one. Not just the one I was in, but, every congregation nearby.
All dearly loved their pets and took good care of them.
There is no love lost between me and the current JW's. However, I don't think there is some abnormal thing going on about pets and JW's.
If your area did seem to have something "abmormal", it was probably a local thing.

"Help! my dad is watching Pornography" Cries of a JW teen.
by Dune inas some of you may know, i'm still an active witness and i'm still in the planning stages of my "escape".
i met a sister at a district convention a year ago and i've been talking to her on aim for a while.
i think she is very amusing considering that she is very intelligent and often voices her views on the doctrinal falicies of the wtbs, but when its my turn to give my two cents she makes it seem as if i'm the only poztate.

He is "dead to the JW's" if he is found out.
In other words .... out of the orginization.
Do relationships end due to porn... Yes, sometimes they do.
What should she do? Whatever she feels is right to her as a person.
Should she "rat" him out due to the Society rules? Do what she feels is right. -

Just how hyped was 1975?
by MuadDib inaight.
i was raised in the jws, but i'm still young (22) and all my life what i've been told is that the society never really promoted 1975 as the definitive year for the coming of armageddon.
what i was always told is that some overzealous witnesses took certain things out of context and developed a very extreme reaction - ie selling their houses, quitting their jobs, dropping out of school, etc.

There were always the things published that the Society could backpedal on, where they could claim "yes, but we said" in the multitude of writings from the Society that provided an excuse.
It was hyped through the unwritten "outlet" -in other words, through the verbal communications that the Society developed which came through DO and CO (whatever they were called at the time).
Taking into consideration what was said, everyone knew what was then being referred to in the written material, even if they didn't come out and say it in plain language.
Anyone that was around at the time, and says that the Society didn't hype 1975 is a liar - or the most obtuse person alive.

This made me want to "PUKE"!
Here is a Corporate 'LIAR"!
He was carefully wording his comments to coincide with Corporate policy; and, trying to sound compassionate.
The "Dogma" of the Jehovah's Witnesses is sickening to say the least.
They slander, lie, and follow "Men"; yet, sound so pious.
"It is for their own benefit that we treat them like CRAP"! Yea ... right!
You have just seen a real "Corporate" man in action. He will go far in the organization. May he succed ... he deserves it.
I am so glad I got out.

Kingdom Halls and the no windows thing...
by ObservingTexan invery first post.
go easy on me!.
my question though is this.
-

No windows because it takes time to put in a window on a quick-build and cost more dollars. Saves on insurance - that is provided through the Society. A minor reason is that nobody needs to be looking outside during a meeting.
Saying that it is to prevent people from seeing what is going on inside is obtuse. They invite people to all 5 general meetings in door-to-door work all the time. If it was secret, they wouldn't invite the public to the meetings.
Everyone should go - reasonable, thinking people won't go back.
The whole idea for "no windows" is to save money that could go to the "Mother", plain and simple. -

Read "Crisis of Conscience" during the meeting.
Make sure that everyone around sees the title.
Don't worry about going anymore. -

Do YOU Consider Yourself An Apostate?
by Golf ini find this labeling insulting and misdirected.
i have been lied, deceived/tricked by a group of men posing as god's direct channel of communication.
when a group of men heightens the expectations of a world change to happen in 1975 (armageddon) to its' adherents and nothing occurs and then blame their adherents for thinking such thoughts, this is outright deception.

An Apostate againt a man made orginazition?
No such thing!
You can only be apostate against God himself. You can only be opposed to a man made organization! -

by stillAwitness in3 sisters were announced as such at this past meeting (2 of which have a family member who was recently d'f but the third had been pioneering for as long as anyone can remember)
coincidence?

I noticed that both elders had their "swords" (NWT) out, holding them in order to fend off any "onslaughts" to themselves. Even though one used it quite clumsy.
