Anyone else excited? I'm not excited about everything...there was a family fight at Thanksgiving that hasn't been totally resolved yet. Not sure how it will all turn out. Also not excited about people wanting really expencive CRAP that they'll forget they have after 3 days.
BUT I still like all the lights, trees, and movies and stuff....and the meal.
What about you guys? Likes? Dislikes?.....Depresson?

hmmm...I was always fed the motherhood, JW wife thing which was never appealing to me so I didn't dream about it. When I was about 13 though I thought it would be cool to be an artist. At 15 I started dreaming about being educated (I was homeschooled after the 5th grade---and by homeschooled I mean left to take care of my younger siblings all day) So I guess going to art school and grad school was a step towards it.
I don't know now though...now I dream about having health insurance. -

Bullying/Harrasement-Please advise
by doodle-v inour child goes to an after school child care provide by the local y. it's right at her elementary school, so after class she just goes there to another class room with the other kids and they play games, do homework etc, till we pick her up after work.
she's gone there for two years and liked it.
she has lots of friends at school and gets along with just about everyone.

My sister's kids (or 2 of them) go to Y childcare. She told me that my nephew was having problems with a kid a couple months ago BUT all she had to do was talk to the director and it stopped. The director said there was a "no tolerance" rule. I would think that if these girls were saying something close to what I'm imagining them saying that those running the Y would be alarmed and not just talk to the parents but also if nothing changed call in authorities to deal with whatever problems these two sisters are having.

Corroded Sparkplug
by Sparkplug intoday i sat and really realized how absolutely hopeless i feel.
i have had so many things happen in my life this year and a huge percentage of it has been items i have to face or tackle.
i have prioritized and organized myself to death and i am so very overwhelmed.

I'll pm you later but here's a couple quotes:
"If you're reading this I'm pobably dead. I have been very depressed since you called me a retard..."
"I tried to drop the toaster into the tub but it kept coming unplugged before it hit the water. I guess I have to go to plan B."
"Don't blame yourself even if it's your fault." -

Abortion
by Ellie in.
i don't know if any of you brits saw the 'this morning' show today but they had a woman on it whos mother had tried to abort her at 7 and a half months pregnant, apparentely they gave her mum some stuff to drink which burns the baby inside and out, but fortunately this baby survived and now as a woman she is campaigning for anti abortion laws to be brought in.. so, what are your views on abortion?

Ellie, I'm in the states and never heard of this person before...I'm not saying what she says isn't true and she doesn't have proof but I don't see any given. The Roe v. Wade law passed in 1973 grants abortions during the first 12 weeks and put some limits on where late term abortions couldn't be preformed e.g. when the mother's health is in danger or when the fetus can't survive birth.

Execution in United States Are You For It?
by jayhawk1 infrom the ap.... raleigh, n.c. - a man who killed his wife and father-in-law pinned his hopes on last-minute intervention from the governor or the courts as he awaited lethal injection early friday in the nation's 1,000th execution since capital punishment resumed in 1977. kenneth lee boyd, set to die at 2 a.m., spent the day receiving visitors, including two sons who watched him gun down their mother and grandfather in 1988. .
my questions are; are you for or against the death penalty?
what was your opinion of the death penalty as a jehovah's witness?.

give me a break. I actually know 2 republican hardliners that don't agree with the death penalty. The writer of the article wants the death penalty to be a black and white non-issue--which it isn't. Why is it these same people think abortion should be abolished--yet won't want their tax money going to help children born? They want the Ten Commanments posted in public places...but don't really care if their support of the death penalty conflicts with commandment 13. It's okay to violate 13 when you agree with it? So long as it's supported by a court system? I don't understand the logic.
