LOL! Yup, odd people come in all shapes, sizes, colors, religions, etc.
Comf, Those many gods and goddesses are just a way of visualizing the divine. Pagans (well at least myself :-) don't really believe that there are a multitude of gods and goddesses wandering around any more than christians really think God is sitting up there on a throne with Jesus physically sitting next to him :-)~

Hi Dmouse. I don't know how qualified I am to answer your question but my take on it is this:
Pagans believe in a great spirit or creator (The all) that has both feminine and masculine qualities that are interpreted as the God and the Goddess. Pagans don't believe that the creator sits up above us on a big throne floating around in heaven somewhere, but that that the God and Goddess (or Lord and Lady) are in all and everything. There are many interpretations of the God and Goddess in many cultures (Diana, Athena, Zeus, Pan, Inanna, etc.) Wiccans believe that you can harness natural energy through magick to help accomplish goals in life. Harnessing this energy through meditation and Magick is not much different than heartfelt prayer that a christian might use) It's not spooky of demonized AT ALL (Wiccans don't believe in Satan so they certainly don't worship him :) )If I've gotten anything wrong so far please please correct me lol Well that's just a few points....hope that helps a little.
I find it so strange that one persons interpretation of God can be considered to better than someone elses? Why is a male version sitting up on a throne with a beard who smites people who tick him off with a lighting bolt upside the head, better than say another persons version of a loving creatress or mother who comforts her children when they need help?

for the solitary practitioner which I found to be quite good. Also just read Pagans and Christians The personal spiritual experience by Gus DiZerega which is EXCELLENT!

as the summer nears it's end and the parents hurry up to get the kiddies ready for back to school, i think of: "what get-away will i plan for next year?
" i didn't get to vacation this year but will most likely be vacationing somewhere far away from texas next summer.
any favorite vacation spots you might recommend?

I saw him once :) He was standing outside of Bethel pointing up at it yelling "look at how much money the Watchtower makes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "look at how much money the Watchtower makes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" At the top of his lungs. Yup my first and only trip to NYC was a real hoot. It was also during the middle of a garbage strike. Ewwwwwwwwwww.
have you ever noticed someone that just had to be a witness?
for example, you're on vacation in a very warm climate and you see 2 men dressed in suits....they must be witnesses.
or you go to a sporting event and you see a group of guys suddenly run for the nearest bathroom and the national anthem is just about to be played....they must be witnesses.
It's Nissan 14th, say 9:00 or so in the evening and the local friendly's or other ice cream shop is suddenly and without warning engulfed by a hungry swarm of neatly dressed men, women and children :-)
