  So sorry Xandria :(

  I know that so many are having to rough it now. My heart goes out to all those having to deal with this. I feel so bad for the elderly that you mention...it's so awful to think of these people who are so helpless going without food.

  My sister's power finally got turned back on today. She lives down in the southern part of the state in Tryon, NC. I thank God everyday that we were so fortunate...I know we were among the lucky.

  Take care of yourself and let us know if you make the news :)

  I fought the stairs and the stairs won...

  if i seem out of it, for the next few days, it's because i fell down a flight of stairs, slipped on the carpeted stairs in my bare feet, and broke my tail bone, and split a toe open, and had to have stitches.

  so i'm on heavey narcotics, and if you need to get ahold of me in any amount of time, then a phone call is the best bet.

  Hey Xandria,

  So sorry about your power loss. Luckily we never lost ours, flickered on and off but stayed on. Trees were down all over the place though. One lady here in Greensboro died after she and her huband ran their generator inside their house. THe husband is fine but they don't know if their 14 year old daughter will live or not. They are treating her in a hyperbaric chamber to try to get oxygen back into her cells. Here are a few pics I snapped of our place right after the storm:

  WT goofie phrases.

  i used to get into trouble for making light of the these phrases that some elders have told me are to be used only gods people.

  lol that you all may know maybe:.

  "well, brother that is very "commendable," just before the meeting ends the po says to those in attendance "brothers the time left is reduced," i once heard a co say to those seated during one of his talks "well now, we don't want to die at armageddon now do we, well of course not.

  There was one elder at our hall that during every talk would say when reading a scripture "Brothers and sisters, please meet me in (insert scripture)"

  i just got off the phone with carla.

  carla and paula's mother has just passed away.

  carla said that paula had been checking her post on and off all through the night and that it gave her much comfort in knowing that so many replied and showed that they cared.

  here in the piedmont triad area of north carolina we got hit pretty hard with an ice storm.

  Read your post about the fires and smoke. So sorry Sounds awful. I would gladly send you some of this wet stuff if I could

  It started to melt a bit last night, then froze solid as a rock, so now it's even icier than it was before. Give me snow anyday....this ice awful.

  at wrapping presents...they end up looking like mangled blobs of paper, tape and ribbon.........oh the shame to see them under the christmas tree.... .

  I'm the same exact way.I too, thanks to my JW upbringing am wrapping impaired. We are putting up Christmas lights for the first time this year and we totally don't know what we are doing. Should be interesting hehehe.

  Thanks for the compliment Joy! Yes we sure did get some Dusies up North to be sure. I grew up in central NY so I know just what you mean :)
