I got home from work on Friday and just casually mentioned the settlements and she wanted to know more so I printed out two articles from different newspapers. She got so upset about this that she wrote her PO a letter stating that she will NOT give any more money because she doesn't want her money going to pay out abuse settlements. She also told him that she wanted to be left alone and not to bother her. She told me she just may become inactive. I bet the PO or anyone else in her congregation hasn't even heard of the settlements. I wonder if they will do anything to her?

Why in the world do JW's think it wrong to send a Mother's Day card?
by oppgirl63 inmy jw roommate always sends her mom and stepdad cards.
i told her last night i was proud of her for doing that.
she said she would do it until the day she died.

If Jehovah is so jealous that he gets mad if you send your mother a card then I think he's an a**hole.

I guess I just don't see where sending your mother a card is considering worshipping her. It seems to just honor her...isn't that what we are suppose to do?

My new ride!
by Bumble Bee inok, it's not really mine per say, but i will be learning to ride it and i'm so excited!!.
as i posted on the daily journal thread - we picked this up on saturday.
hubby has been wanting a bike for so long, and with the price of gas, and his commute - it will pay for itself in no time.. it's a suzuki boulevard m50, 800cc, fuel injected, liquid-cooled, v-twin engine (whatever that means!!)..

Beautiful bike! I know you will enjoy it. I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 that I ride back and forth to work on nice days. It's a vertical twin liquid cooled, not a v-twin. I'm short (5'5"), so it's just right for me. It gets great gas mileage.

I was a regular donor until my JW roommate moved in....she had hepatitis years ago and the Red Cross told me I couldn't give as long as she lived with me. I really didn't understand that...I've never had it. Do you all think they misunderstood? Maybe I should try again. Oh yea...when I came home and told my JW roomie what happened when I tried to give, she clapped as if she were so glad I couldn't.

Anybody attended the Memorial last night? What was your experience?
by Cindi_67 infor the first time in a year i set foot on a kh.
the memorial to me is still somewhat sacred so i decided to attend.
i thought i would feel different, in the sense that maybe i would miss meetings, but i was wrong.

(copied from my other post)
As most of you know from my previous posts, I'm a 43 y/o lesbian with a JW roommate. Well, last week I got a hair cut and I'm looking more boyish than usual right now until it grows back out some. Any way...I drop my roommate off at the KH (she can't drive because of epilepsy) and this young boy is opening the door for everyone. He's problably about 6 or 7 yrs old. I drive up to the door and let her out and start to back up and leave. My roommate said that when she got to the door the little boy asked her "Isn't your husband coming with you?" . My roommate leaned over and said "Honey, that's a woman." She said his eyes got so big. I laughed about it all the way home.

Not really....since she has epilepsy and really needs to live with someone, they don't give her much of a hard time about it. At least they haven't so far. I take her to every meeting without complaint.

I've been taking it for 3 years and it really seems to help me. I haven't had any problems with it. Drugs affect everyone differently and maybe this one is not right for you.
